Hi Ian. Thats a very good sound! Excellent in fact. I am sure the new member asking about echo units will take note.

Hi Ian You got a Great Sound on Wonderful Land using the Burns Maquee Guitar using the Zoom G2 unit. I own the Burns Hank Marvin 64 Guitar and wondered what Pickup and setting you used. I have the G2.1 and Magicstomp with EFTP... Well Done on the Recording.
regards
Ronnie

thanks guys, appreciate the feedback. i used the bridge pick up and zoom G2.1u EFTP patch B0, exactly as recommended by Charlie. if i hadnt been wanting to hear how the burns sounds i think would have taken some bass off or tweaked the EQ a little. that said, i used the burns at the weekend and it sounds a lot "twangier" when i got it it had 10's on. i set it up with 9's and it lost some of that twangyness so im now trying d'addario 10's. any recommends for strings, setup, in fact anything for this guitar would be welcome. im still experimenting with it.
thanks again
Ian

Hi Ian.
Given the sound you have, why would you want to change it? My opinion is there is far too much importance placed on strings. What one player uses will not give the next player the same sound if they changed. I agree that 10's are better than 9's, but that about it. You can make more radical changes to your sound by using a different pick.
I have seen hundreds if not thousands of pounds wasted over the years. You have a great sound and you play well. Money invested in a good valve amp is the way I would go if I had the sound you have.
If your confident with setting up your own guitar correctly then thats fine, something I ain't ever been, so I pay £40 for a pro set up every year and each time it comes back playing better or should I say the same as it did.

thanks for that Tony. I have found the burns is particularly sensitive to pick type and even creates a different tone plucked up or down! i think i am going to just keep playing it and try to develop a "style" to suit it.
cheers Ian

Hi Ian,
I think that you have performed an excellent rendition of Wonderful Land on the Burns Marquee. I am also interested in the sound you get through the Zoom G2.1u with Charlie's EFTP patches. I am interested in getting one of those soon hopefully. I wanted to hear a few examples of its use. I was wondering how it takes to using all of the patches Charlie supplies and how much room is left for other patches.
Well done with the piece. You played it well.
Cheers, Len

Hi Ian, Very good sound and well played. I am actually surprised at how good the G2.1u sounds on this. Hi Len, My G2/G2.1u patches use 29 of the user patches. The remaining user patches leave plenty of room for adding other patches. Regards, Charlie
