I am a very amateur player and only play at home with the following equipment - MIJ strat with Texas specials & Elixir 11's, Vox Pathfinder 15R and Zoom 508.
I have a limited budget but for some time I have been thinking about purchasing a Gemini 3 - however I have never used the Pathfinder on more than about 1/3 rd volume and I am just about to move to a smaller (city) apartment, so this made me re-think.
I am now thinking about trading in the trusty Pathfinder for a DA5. To me this would have two other advantages - Aux in to allow connection of MP3 player for BT's and its size (I do tend to move around quite a lot).
Can anyone offer me sound(!) advice:- Should I stick with the Pathfinder (may have to also buy a new stereo) and buy an Ariab or Gemini unit? Should I look at the DA5 - can anyone tell me how good it is on tone and reliability? Any other suggestions?
Any thoughts would be most welcome. Thanks.
Tony
PS - I should have said that I try to play the older shads stuff (Stranger, Peacepipe, Atlantis, Wonderful land, Dance On, etc) and that's the sound I am looking for.
