This is what they say about it.................
The WEM Copicat Shadow.
What it isn’t : It is not a presettable, programmable digital effects unit - there are many of these around already. What it is : It is an implementation of the old Copicat tape echo units using DSP (digital signal processing) technology, this is a similar type of system to that used on CD’s (compact disks), except instead of storing the music signal on plastic disks, we make echoes and the like with a music computer and then send it straight back out again. This system gives all the functionality of the old units without the inconsistency of sound or the mechanical maintenance required i.e. changing tapes, wearing out of parts, strange noises etc. Plus added effects ranges and versatility. The familiar old controls have been kept so there are always ‘real’ knobs and buttons to play with to keep the feel of the older, more tactile effects units.
