HELLO TO ALL ''ECHO-HEADS''.. &are there others?................
WELL today my quest for the right sound ,,,, [to me anyway],,,has ended',I'', since starting on my revived hobbie 2 years ago I am now a'' happy-chappy''-over the moon actully

WHEN I first learned of these shads ''sound'' sites on obtaining a computer & now have to ''eat'' my words!!!!!!!! ,,,what fool I was AS now I say a'' computer''is the greatest thing since ''sliced-bread''

I had had my old guitar &''ace-tone''' EC10,, in mothballs for over 40 years & had other hobbies getting married,4 children,speedway racing,ham-radioall ''costalots'' at the age of 66 I had a nasty dirt-circuit accident& wrecked my left shoulder & decided to give it away , I still had the ham-radio hobbie but it was not doing it for me.. ''A.HA'' THE old guitar-echo thing that I never really acomplished year's before[my reborn hobbie] I dragged out the old gear & started to fiddle withit,, and I was at a country fare one day & there was this guy playing alone with his strat playing ''shadow's tunes & asking him how he had the backing's & he said ''I get them on the ''internet'' WELL that was it,,
I raced home & googled backing tracks &''GORANS'' wonderfull site came up & that led me to zoom,perth,&charlies & that got me so enthused that I sold my radio equippment to finance the new hobbie...
THE first effects unit I bought was a magic/stomp as it was the cheapest-best option ,BOUGHT charlies ''efpt'' as the ellusive Q2-Q20's were way out of my small budget ,as I am a pensioner ...
I am a mechanic&welder & a friend of mine was building a ''steel'' yaght & needed help & ineeded the dollars ..THIS helped me buy other gear etc ..
I was determined to get my self a ''quadraverb 2'' I tried time &time again on the well known auction site only to miss-out price wise THe UK prices were too expensive to buy from australia,So I place a wanted to buy on US the well known auction site & finnally [2months ago when oz dollars were 89 cents to the us dollar.. I bought 2 Q2's first one a bit rough ,but with charlie's help now is A1with the upgrade mods &v2.01 chip fitted THE second Q2 came from the ''gracelands-baptis-church''& it is a pristine one [the ''holy'' one as i call it] ,obtained a v2.01 chip from ''atlantis''tvs-''PAUL, whilst my visit to him on oue WA trip...

WELL TODAY I recieved my purchased ''CHARLIE-CHUCK''hall's 79 new patches'''OH''what a feeling............''EFPT''...
AND I have got say charlie does not do things by haves THE instructions the loading software the printable 26 odd pages make it easy to down-load [even a computer dummy like me] managed to load-up the Q2 without ''hicup's'' ''GOODONYER'' charlie ,well worth the wait for me to afford the Q2 & your patches ...
I have tried out several patches & are very pleased with them ;D

SO guy's [echo-heads &ladies 1 to my knowledge] If you have a Q2 without these patches do yourself a ''favor'' & invest in a set,,
YOU won't regret it
WELL guy's &gal That is my buying of effects over at last It's now up to me to get it all together ,practice,practice,practice etc etc etc

Hi Barry,

It's nice to know you are happy with the patches, as usual Charlie has done a great job with the echo patches.

As you say the documentation is first class, I went through it all thoroughly when I converted the files to PDF for Charlie.

I've been shifting some of my radio gear lately to pay off bills etc caused by the amp / echo / guitar hobby as well.

HI AMANDA,,, yes well somethings have to go to finance our hobbies unless you have deep-deep pockets& I am afraid mine are shallow,and my radio gear has nearly all gone ,trancievers ,tuners etc ...Radio is also a constant buying hobbie,,& the guitar sounds better any-way.HA.HAAr,,,,,,

WELL my buying ofgear is over now as I have plenty but I alway's wanted a Q2 ,with charlies patches & now that I have one , I am very happy that's for sure...
I probably will sell one of my m/stomps now? as I have two?
well I just should finish my amp soon & get cracking on the guitar with the valve-amp...
No excuses now???

Greetings from New Zealand, yes, I must agree with everything you've said, I too have recently purchased Charlie's Q2 patches and they are brilliant, apart from the sound, the download instructions are great.
I have had my Q2 for several years now, having purchased it second hand here in NZ. However, the chip version is only a # 1 and I notified Charlie that the unit had Multitap provision in it and whilst there would be no guarantees that the patches would work, I purchased them anyway, and loaded them in. Presto, it all works beautifully, the sound is magnificent, friends of mine shake their heads in disbelief upon hearing tunes like Atlantis, My Resistance is Low etc.
Yes, you are right, the Echomatic patches are very nice. As yet I have not tried all the patches but will do so soon, I use a Custom Shop Strat and a Re-issue Bassman and am a Fender person from 1964, during my apprenticeship then, I waited 6 months (yes 6 ) for my first guitar to come by boat from the US. How things have changed.
Well, just thought I would share this with you. You will have a great time with your Q2.

HI TREVOR ,, yes mate it is amazing this world of computers ,,, to be able to recieve programs via email etc ,unlike the day's in the ''dark'' trying to obtain sounds by trial &error ,hear-say,, etc ,It makes it all worthwhile getting the right echo settings & then makes it easier to learn tunes in my book& to then concentrate on the other sounds ,amp settings, guitar settings etc etc;;
Trev it sounds like you have some nice gear mate,valve-amp c/s strat etc,, do you use backing tracks or are you in a group ,I myself only play at home to myself,but enjoy it mate at 69 i find it harder than when i was a teenager .. but I am having a ball...
