Joined up at Tony's site in Perth (proboards as well) Seem's that the word (and name) Dick is somewhat rude over there how very strange ! The inbuilt censor proggy changed my name to "thingy" to restore decency One of the guys is looking into it on the site, but, I must admit to the beginnings of a strange liking to the computer generated nickname. Is this site set up the same way Ron/Charlie ? are there any words or phrases that we need to be wary of ? As was pointed out recently by Charlie, children can & do view the site and I would never knowingly offend/embarras anybody on this (or any other) site Cheers Dick.

Hi Dick! Yes there is a list of banned words and their recommended (by the computer) replacements. Until it was changed, Roger Allcock became Roger Allthingy, which to my devious mind seems even more rude than the original. I'm not sure if you can see the list. It is in the admin section at the top of the page.

Hi Dick, It's not an Aussie thing, just the default list of censored words on Proboard (American). Don't understand why Dick was included after they are the home of Dick Tracy ! .. Sorry who's that ?? way before their time. George ;D

the entry for dick had a corresponding conversion to thingy, I changed it to Dick (with a capital D). I also changed the setting to whole words and not part words, which if I remember rightly, cured Roger's surname. Regards, Charlie

Hi Charlie. Yes it did. It amused me though, because as I said, the "thingy" made it sound so much ruder than the original.
