Hello everyone, happy new year. As a special tribute on my dad's upcoming birthday, I plan to play Apache. I'm an accomplished guitarist but i need a little help with the Apache delay times. I have a TC G major. Can anyone help me get the correct settings for this unit please ? I have a week to get the track together. Thanks.

Hi wolf5150, I don't know the unit but if it has 4 taps, set tap 1 to 125ms, tap 2 to 180ms, tap 3 to 410ms, tap 4 to 600ms. Make tap 1 the loudest, tap 2 about 25% of that, tap 3 about 60% and tap 4 about 50%. No feedback from any taps. You can do without tap 2 if you don't have enough taps. If there are EQ settings for the delays, remove some bass and a bit of the high end for a fairly bright midrange kind of sound. Set the overall delay level quite loud compared with the dry signal. If there is modulation for the taps, set it to about 1Hz and experiment with the ms setting, probably around 2-4ms, so you get a pleasing chorus kind of effect on a sustained note. If you can't do that then use your tremolo arm gently at the right moments to simulate the chorus effect, usually after the last note of most phrases. The damped sections don't need that. Regards, Charlie

Hi Charlie, that was very quick.
The unit only has 2 delays ( dual delay ) which allow me to set up 2 seperate delays.
Can I get close with 2 ?
I've got the track learned, just having an issue setting up the tone correctly.
My dad's a lifelong Shadows fan so I wanna surprise him next week.

Hi wolf5150, The only way you can get it close enough with 2 delays is to set two delays in series configuration. Set the first one to around 150ms and the second one to around 450ms. No feedback. Set the second delay quieter than the first one. If you can't do a series configuration then you are limited. You could set the same two delay times and see how that sounds. Don't pan any delays, keep them all in mono or centered. Regards, Charlie

Thought I'd update my thread.
I set up the delay and found that adding a little bit of feedback to the repeats made it sound like a multi tap.
I added a bit more to the 150ms delay than the 450 and this really nailed it.
I completed the tone with my JMP1 and Analogman Juicer.
Very happy. Thanks for the help. ;D
