Hi Charlie,
Thank you. I like everyone else am looking forward to any demos when they are ready not that I need any convincing after what Amanda and others said about the unit next to a certain guitarist meazzi and the lack of difference. Looks like a great success for you and John. All the best for Thursday.

The prototype (and this will apply to production models) requires a 12 volts AC output supply at 500ma and the connector is a very standard 2.1mm X 5.5mm. The DC output such as that from a Boss PSA unit will not work. It must be 12 volts AC. Because it will be AC, the polarity does not matter. Such AC power supply are not as easy to find than DC power supplies, but can be found. I remember finding a supplier in France for a 12 V 1000mA AC power supply, for a member of our French forum who needed it for his Magicstomp. Didier

Hi Scott, Thanks for asking to be added to the list. I think John will know where to get a suitable power supply from, since he is in Australia. We can sort something out nearer the time. Regards, Charlie

Charlie, why not simply call it what it is:
That Sound Echo
Old fashioned gold letters on black or brushed aluminum would look very smart and vintage!!
Or black letters on gold !!! That Sound Echo
Cheers, Bojan

Why not call it something like 'A-Patchie'? Corny, but to the point... B.T.W.... Add me to the list.

Power supply for Australia shouldn't be a problem, aren't they 240v like the U.K. ?

Thank you to those who have asked for their names to be added. For those who have commented about the Q2 and Q20, I like the sound of the new unit better than the Q2 or Q20, for the patches that have been written so far. I have no reason to think that the remaining patches yet to be written will not sound better too.
Hi twylightshadow, I have checked the site security log and cannot find anything to suggest that any post by you has been deleted.
Hi Bojan, Thanks for the name suggestion. I had actually thought of it myself but I'm not sure about it.
Regards, Charlie

Hi Charlie Would it be possible to record some 'snippets' of different Shadows's tunes we know...for those that were not able to hear it in person? Naturally, I would love to have one of the units..if the price is right and not too expensive.. Thanks a lot Sheendigs

Power supply for Australia shouldn't be a problem, aren't they 240v like the U.K. ? Hi, Amanda, Yes, Australia's power supply is 240v. I'm not sure if the plug fitting is the same for both countries or not. Perhaps somebody on the forum will know. Regards, Scott

That echo? Won't that start a lot of debate about which echo? LOl! ;D No Amanda, not "That Echo" but "That Sound Echo" . . . There can be no debate about what kind of echo that is . . . it is the echo that gives "That Sound" Anyway, I'm glad we're on the same "wavelengths" about the name Charlie ;D ;D Charlie, perhaps you should open a new thread where people can send you their ideas for a name. After all, 200 heads are better than one or two. I love Roy's proposal for A-Patchie . . . It's so funny!!

Hi to All, Thanks to everyone who has posted comments on this thread! The amount of interest in the "new machine" has been quite incredible. I've been leaving it to Charlie to answer questions - it's his site after all!!! (heh, heh) A couple of things though - the AC power pack for Australia won't be a problem. Suitable units are available off the shelf out here. Any 12vAC plug pack that is rated at 500mA or more, with the (standard) 2.1 x 5.5mm connector will work. I'm using the same plugpack as I use on my magicstomp and it works fine. In any case, I will source the plugpacks for any units that are sold in Australia. We built 2 prototypes, by the way, I've got the other one here which I use for patch testing etc. We have it mind to get some sound samples ready to post on this site - and also I eventually want to get a page dedicated to the new unit on my own website, with specifications, photos, sounds etc. Charlie will most likely record the sound samples himself - though he is very busy at present! Regarding a name for it, keep the suggestions coming in. Charlie and I have tried to come up with something suitable. I don't think Charlie thought much of some of my suggestions , like the "Hank Tank" (laugh) or "Ezi Meazzi" but I didn't mind "Shadow Play" - all good fun. Cheers, John

Since it is aimed at a wider market than just Hank fans, maybe the name should reflect this - perhaps something like "Echos of the Sixties"
Cheers
Keith
PS as a poor old pensioner, I would be interested in buying one if the price is not too high - although I'm sure it will be good value at any price.
