Hi Barry, While waiting for Ron to answer (if he sees this message), I just wondered if you might have lost or deleted the cookie that should store your log in information. However, that should not prevent you from signing in as hoadlies and using the original password. If you can find the cookie for your original login (if using internet explorer 7, click on tools, then internet options, then settings, then view files, you should get a list of all temporary internet files and cookies, find the cookies related to proboards, you can right click on each one in turn, then click open, and you should see a window of text. You might see your login name and password. Just an idea. Regards, Charlie

I don't know any way to find member's passwords, probably because it isn't possible. Good advice for Barry, let's hope it works. Regards, Charlie

Ron or Charlie, I am still having problems with the "log in". I have logged in "forever" and bookmarked the home page after logging in, but I am still being asked to log in after 6 hours.

Hi Kevin, It seems to me that your cookie for the site is not updating. I don't know if it is possible for that to happen. I can't think of any other reason for it to not work properly as it does for me and probably most others. Do you clear out your temporary internet files fairly regularly or even ever? The cookies are in that same folder. Cookies are not deleted when temporary internet files are deleted. It might be that the folder is too full of temporary files. I am only guessing here. Regards, Charlie

Charlie/Ron. It seems that my computer is not recognising having previously logged onto the site, although it is storing cookies from it. When I check the properties, one of the questions is, "Have I visited this site before today?" and the answer is coming up as "No", and I can't see anyway of changing that answer. Incidentally, certainly using Firefox as a browser, by going into the Tools/Page Info/Security section, you are able to bring up the password for that site. So if anybody forgets their password, or is unsure of it - they can check it.

Think I may have fixed it. The site cookies were not permanently "allowed."

Hi Kevin, Is that a setting on your computer or on the site? Regards, Charlie

Yes Ron, it's on Firefox on my PC. For some reason, the button to permanently "allow" cookies from the site hadn't taken. I will check tomorrow to see if the statement about previous visits has changed. As I said though, if anybody forgets their password, on Firefox at least, you can check it in the Tool/Page Info/Security menu.

Yep! That's fixed it. It even tells me HOW MANY TIMES I've visited the site. Presumably it would be the same for IE. Go into the browser tools/page info/security, and permanently "allow" the cookies for this site.

I have not seen anywhere in IE7 that tells how many times a site has been visited, although I don't know much about checking or changing settings for it. Regards, Charlie

Perhaps IE7 doesn't have that facility Charlie. Like Ron, I prefer Firefox.

Hi Barry, I'm not sure that fixing something to allow certain downloads would affect cookies, but you never know. Regards, Charlie
