Have to agree - it's got a lot more cheerful around here ! Just one minor point - I think our ex-admin made a couple of posts "sticky" or permenant on the general board - don't understand why Jet Harris appearing in Solihull needs to be sticky nor 2 separate threads on having a chatroom need to be sticky (no offence Amanda ....)

I have in fact unstickied every single one, and the AC15 Heritage and G7 thread is now moved into the archived area where it really belongs. Regards, Charlie

I have now reverted back to the normal site logo. If anyone would like to design one similar to the Xmas one but without the elves, and either with a transparent background or with the same blue background, please go ahead as I liked the red letters and the shading of the Xmas one. Regards, Charlie

Hi Brian, I had thought about the alternative name suggestion and I'm afraid it hasn't grabbed me at all. This has nothing to do with the person that suggested it. On the other hand, I don't like the word forum much either. Suggestions for a different last word would be welcome. Regards, Charlie

OK, so I have no idea!

Hi Bill, Surely better than no idea at all. How about this: Charlie Hall & Friends. It might also encourage some of the guests to join in, they outnumbered the members 2:1 in the last 24 hours or so. Regards, Charlie

hi all yes that sounds good to me as well. i think the seceret is to keep it simple and honest. thats what i think this site is all about no ego`s just honest straitforward opinions, idea`s, and a place were you can find help and if possible help others with no other hidden agenda. peter

Thank to all for your opinions. And thanks to Bill for the new transparent logo with shading, which I have put into place. I hope it is OK to use your original link, Bill, at least for now. I have also changed the other wording at the top of the page to match the new name. Regards, Charlie

Hi Charlie, If there is anything you would like altered on the logo I can probably do it and of course there is no problem in using the link.

Hi Bill, Thank you. The only thing I noticed is that there is no gap between the letters and the top of the page. I don't know whether or not there is some code that George could apply to make it more centrally spaced. Regards, Charlie

Drat,
I sat here last night racking my brains for a site name - why I didn't think of that one I don't know. Great name after all I hope we are all friends on here ;D

Hi Barry, Thanks for the info. I have no problem with using yours but I would like to see if I can make one that everyone sees with a transparent background. What does this one look like on your screen? Or can you save yours as a .gif file with transparent background?

They both look good to me. But I have noticed that someone has corrected the spacing without changing the logo at all. It is looking fine now. The white background is not actually the background, it is part of the shading, and I like it. On the other hand, I like the black outline to the RHS of the letters in Barry's version. But I don't want to be too fussy, they are all good. Regards, Charlie

I have now changed the logo to Bill's latest version because it is a gif and the previous one was a png. Regards, Charlie

I am very pleased with the way the site has gradually taken shape. I think I have removed all references to the word "forum" now. If anyone sees that word here, let me know! Regards, Charlie

A horrible thought just occurred to me: what if the adverts recognise the new name and we start seeing a load of spam type adverts that we can't get rid of??!!!! I haven't seen any yet but anything could happen! Regards, Charlie

Hi Charlie, Who knows what google 'thinks' is a relevant advert but I doubt if the name change will have any effect. What kind of adverts were you thinking we might get BTW I added the two line spaces to the top of the page. Also, while we are at it, if you want we can remove the << Post Message >> etc part from below the 'Charlie Hall & Friends' normal text title.
