Thanks for that, it really does high light the echo and to my ears the first repeat is so close to the first note that it is almost falling over it. Perhaps this is the secret about the Apache sound. You will also notice that the first repeat is not twangy like the first note but warm and rounded with very little definition.

Hi Andy,
A really good thread that. I particularly liked the comments from the drummer to the effect that it's not just lead guitar. While it's true that the audience will notice any errors played by lead - because he / she carries the melody - he / she is only as good as the band as a whole. That sound is truly a team effort - greatly improved by getting the correct tone and echo's.
