hi all hope you all surived the christmas celerbations where ever you spent them. santa brought me a very nice takamine g22ons acoustic guitar. i have tried a couple of acoustics before, only lower end models and find they are very different to the stratocaster, bulker in the body which makes it harder to play i find. this one is really well made with a great finish to it and has a really nice tone, also had a really good set up which is harder to get than on an electric. hope you all got what you wanted any acoustic tips welcome. happy new year. peter

Hi Peter, I have always regarded Takamine acoustic guitars as higher end products, although I have never played one. I just notice the number of times I have seen them used, particularly for live playing. I don't know if they are still made in Japan now or whether a cheaper line has been set up. Regards, Charlie

hi charlie that was my thoughts about takamine. this one is made in china like a lot now. but the overall finish is very clean no glue all over the inside like i have seen on some. the frets have a really top finish on them no rough edges at all. you would not look at it or listen to it and think its a cheapy. i was surprised when i saw it was made in china. having said that i had a squier standard made in china, anniversary model and the finish on that was faultless. i would recomend the takamine model i have to anyone. this one was well set up, the shop said that they set all there guitars up reguardless before they left the shop. peter

Hi Peter, The dealers that go to the trouble of doing good set ups of new instruments deserve the business. even if they have to charge more. Regards, Charlie
