Hi Folks, I just learned this tune, one of my favourite Eagles numbers, and thought I would share it with you guy's. I used the Neck/Middle position on my Jap strat (Kinman pickups). Hope you enjoy it. Regards. Duncan. www.4shared.com/audio/1jZGxIHA/Tequila_-3dB.html

Hi Duncan, Very well played and a good sound. A good choice of tunes for an instrumental. I think it would sound a lot better if you mixed it down at a higher bitrate, 128kbps is very low, I usually use 320 kbps. It doesn't do justice to your playing and sounds at that bitrate Kind regards, Chris

Hi Duncan! I agree with Chris, and I also think you should use at least 192kbps! 128kbps give's a harch sound to your music! Regards Bo

Hi Chris, Bo, Thanks for your comments and advice. I use a Tascam pocket studio 5 for recording. It seems to mix the recordings down at 128Kbps by default and I don't think there is any way of changing this but I am very happy with it otherwise as it is easy to use and I have grown used to it. I will try to find out if I can change the bit rate. Best wishes. Duncan.

Hi Duncan, I've had a quick look on the net and I dont think you can change the bit rate on the Tascam. I use the Boss BR Micro recorder and I record at 128 kbps but I can also change it to 192 kbps if required although not being an expert in recording I tend not to fiddle to much.I listened to both your postings and it sounds to me like the lead guitar wants to come forward a little. I had a similiar situation with one of my early recordings and it turned out that I didn't have one of the track settings set up right. I liked your rendition of this Eagles number and I thought you played it very well. Kind regards David

David, Lou..Hi, thank you for your comments. I am glad you liked my sound file. Regarding the lead not being prominent enough, I feel there is a fine line between bringing the lead out more and making it stand out too much but since a few people have made similar comments, perhaps I am being too cautious. I will bear that in mind for my next recording. I will also try to find some way of improving the recording quality. Best wishes. Duncan.

I may be wrong but i did read some years ago that the Human ear can't hear any difference from 128kbps upwards.

I think you are confusing Khz with Kbp's
The bit rate you render an mp3 down to is a measure of quality not frequency range.
Human hearing can go up as high 20,000 Hz
Although mine rolls of at about 12Khz now.
Mike.

What i mean to say is the the human ear can't tell any difference from songs or tunes recorded at 128 kbp's or 192kbps. It just takes up more space on your hard drive. I have downloaded the same song at 128 kbps and way higher, couldn't hear any difference. Must admit my ears arn't the best since i turned 30, 20 years ago.
Regards Dave

Hi.
It maybe that you can't tell the difference from 128 and 192, but you will from 128 and 320 which is the higher quality format for saving to Mp3.
