Hi Tony That's an interesting question and I'm no expert but I don't think so because everyone has different guitars, setups, amps, recording methods and playing techniques. I even notice the difference when I play my American Strat and Mexican Strat with the same settings and equipment. Both produce nice tones but there's a slight difference so I imagine it will be the same with the new echo unit. Best wishes Rosemary

And all depends on the player!

...will we all sound the same? Hi. The simple, answer is no you won't. It's no different than any other unit, it all depends on what guitar is plugged in, what amp and the player. This was noticable at the get together event in June, the unit sounded great whatever you plugged into it, but they did sound different. Tony

That would be like saying if we all buy Fender Stratocasters will we sound the same . . . but as we know, Hank played on a Strat, The Spotnicks played on a Strat, Clapton played on a Strat, Hendrix played on a Strat (among a million others) . . . Did they all sound the same?

Hi Bojan But did they all use the same effects units? Ha ha ha ! You have a point! But can you imagine Hank and, let's say David Gilmore, playing with the same echo unit. They would definitely not sound the same. Besides, why should I care if I sound the same as you if I'm playing in Belgrade and you are playing in Limasol . . . ;D ;D

Hi All, Of course we won't, after all if we bought the TVS3 would we all sound all the same?. Everybody hears differently & picks up on certain audio descriptors in the brain which says to you alone what sounds like what. Regards John P.S What a great question!

The hearing curve is for each person different too. This starts around the important 2Khz with losses and then further up to say 10Khz it get's out of control as function of age...so the ears are always hearing less then the sounds offered. It can be assumend that the personal hearing satisfaction is just a present comparison between recorded material from the Shadows and your sound/effects chain being 'in sinc'. Again it's only a subset thats different also from your nabour's hearing and a contributor ranking in the top of contributors. For females it's slighly better .. Piet

When i have friends round and we play the same tune on the same equipment with the same settings, patches etc it sounds different. in some cases completely different. I dont think we need worry, even if many of us DO have fiesta red strats!

Hi.
This type of question is one of the most frequent questions on this type of forums. If I just got the gear some good player or some other is using, then I will sound the same. This is the delusion the gear makers want us to believe in, that the gear is most important.
Nothing can be more wrong.
Up to 90 % of what we call the sound is in the players fingers and the playing, so even after all buy and use the same gear, all will sound equal different as they do to day. Also as to day more or less close to what they try to achieve.
The best way to get a sound you want is to practice and play more and to understand how to play your instrument and gear to sound the way you want. Hank will sound like him on any gear he is using and so will you.
Kind Regards, 26rednef
