We seem to have quite a few Shadows players in Brisbane and south east Queensland and those I have been in contact with are very keen to get together and form a Brisbane Shadows Club.
If you're interested please send me an email at rkbt@gil.com.au * and/or contact Quentin here on Charlie's website (user: que) and we'll start compiling a list of names and let you know how it progresses.
All ideas are very welcome! Peter (user: peterk) and Quentin have already worked out some possible venues.
Best wishes Rosemary

Thanks Rosemary - this should flush out the South East Queensland (SEQ) Shaddicts.
I can also be contacted directly by email - qnosovicATbigpond.net.au.
I'm looking forward to the Expressions of Interest. We don't have to be great musicians, although that's a bonus - enthusiasm and a love of the music is a great asset.
Cheers
Quentin

Hi both
Good luck with your quest, I wonder if there are any Shads followers here in Cyprus?
(By the way you may want to change the @ sign in your email addresses to AT otherwise you may get more responses than you want.)

Hi Tony Thanks. I've noticed YouTube Shadows covers from all over the world so hopefully you'll also find some players over there. Thanks but I won't worry about my email address here as it's the same address I've had since 1995 and I get so much spam already that it's way too late. I just use filters to sort it out. Best wishes Rosemary

Hi Quentin I'm quite excited about this and might also put the message on my own website next time I update it and add a bit of Search Engine Optimisation for the relevant terms people might be looking for. I've also posted a message on the Perth board. Best wishes Rosemary

Hi Rosemary, I'm not aware of your website, but that's a good way to market the Club. Perhaps further down the track, Facebook might also be a good way to communicate activities when we get going. I need to learn about Facebook (showing my age).
Cheers

Hi Quentin My website is just a personal website I've had for many years at www.rosemaryinaustralia.com/but isn't specifically about any one subject. Good idea about social media promotion too! Twitter and Facebook would be good ways to promote interest and activities and I can easily set them up at some stage and can also build a website for the club but it would probably be just as easy to use one of the free hosting services. I'll work on a single page on my own website soon as an interim solution as that's already there and and once the page gets indexed in Google and other search engines it will turn up in search results. Best wishes Rosemary

Hi Quentin and Peter I've just added a page to my website as well as links including to Charlie's website here. I won't get that many page impressions but it will be picked up by Google and other search engines if anyone is searching for Shadows Clubs etc. www.rosemaryinaustralia.com/brisbane_shadows_music_club.htmlBest wishes Rosemary

Hi Rosemary,
I've visited your site and enjoyed the videos - You are doing well with the various songs - Nice sound also.
I also liked the photos of the Blue Mountains.
Let's hope all your good work generates some interest.
I haven't been inundated with email enquiries, but early days yet.
Cheers
Quentin

Hi Quentin Thanks. My Mum lives in the Blue Mountains so I'm a regular visitor I've had some nice messages of support but no takers yet but it's early days and word has to get around. Anyway we have three already. You, Peter and me - and perhaps John - that will be 4? Best wishes Rosemary

Hi Rosemary,
Yes early days, but even 4 persons is enough to get something started.

Hi Rosemary Neatly done your site.. But I would only give you a word of caution. Do not show your e-mail there, as you could get some unwanted spams. You do not have the option to hide that and make the site send you 'cached' e-mails? On Homestead I was able to do that and solve the problem. Sheendigs

Hi Sheendigs Thanks. That's a good idea but I've had the same email address since 1995 so I already get a fair bit of spam but it's not too bad as most of it is captured by filters. Best wishes Rosemary

Hi Peter and Quentin A Google search for Shadows Clubs and Shadows Clubs Australia brings up the expression of interest page mentioned above on Page 1 of the results pages so hopefully more players will find it now.
I've also linked to Charlie's site on that page although most players will know of it already. (On the other hand it took me awhile to find it last year because as a new player I wasn't really sure of what EFTP meant when I started. Actually I just checked and it was 17th November 2010 that I registered after purchasing Charlie's EFTP patches so it's been a year now. It's amazing how much more I know now as a result so thanks again to Charlie and the members here for all the fantastic help:) ) Best wishes Rosemary

Good Work Rosemary!
Increasing the exposure will maximise the opportunities. And yes, Charlie's site is a great resource for us all, with a lot of collective wisdom available to be tapped.
I remember well how helpful Charlie was to me about 18 months ago when I was having difficulty finding a problem in an amplifier I built. It was thanks to his suggestions that I tracked down the problem.
Charlie, I've had no further problems with the amp, and I hope you are well and refreshed having stepped back from the day to day issues on the site.
Cheers
Quentin
