Hi Everybody,
Regarding the Echomatic reverb sound :- As I said before I used to have an Echomatic 1, With Continental "Geloso" plugs instead of 1/4 inch Jack Plugs. The reverb sound was unbelievable. In my little back bedroom it sounded like I was playing in St Pauls cathedral. No Kidding. It was an awesome feeling .
Cheers
Tommo

Max : Charlie is too modest to tell you this, however he has invented a new echo machine that promises to be the bee's knees, it will sell for approx £600 with all the shadows patches built in, they should be ready for sale by the end of March and if you want top class quality, I would urge you to ask him for inclusion on his list of buyers :
Hope I haven't overstepped the mark Charlie:

Hi Frank, Thank you. I learned today that the end of March is now not a realistic release date. Production is now being pushed and it should be the end of April. Regards, Charlie

Hi Charlie! Just read this post about the revised release date of the new Hall Collins Echo Unit. Great news that it's now just a few weeks away. OK, it's not the release date you hoped for, and I bet you're as disappointed at the delay as the rest of us; but hey-ho, the end of April is frighteningly close! I suppose that now it's in the hands of the manufacturers, the production wheels are really humming along! Anyway, I'm certainly looking forward to my unit; and my congratulations to you for getting such a clever show on the road. I bet you've worked it, eaten it, slept it, & dreamt it these past few years! Well done ! A little while ago, you mentioned that you might be able to post some images of the machine, and/or dimensions and/or specs or whatever. That would be brilliant; a real appetite whetter! However, if this is not possible until the actual release date of the unit; copyright or patenting reasons, or whatever; I quite understand; no worries; business is business. Once again; thanks for your hard work and expertise over so many things on this site. Really looking forward to the magic little box! Milko

Hi Milko,
+1 for a picture!
But why do you use this old run out thread( which less people read) , instead of the appropriate thread on the general board with more then 100.000 reads?
Cheers Rob

Hi Charlie, Thanks for your reply. A picture will be super. These days of business espionage and piracy; one's never quite sure of the protocol and etiquette regarding innovative products; fresh to market! Anyway thanks again. Kindest regards, Milko. Hi Rob, Thanks for your response. I take your point. However, I personally don't think the subject is really 'buried' on this site. The subject of the new H&C Echo Unit has cropped up in a couple other places at least, and this particular slot and specific thread is in a perfectly suitable location, in my humble ole' opinion. I think most of we 'seekers of the one true echo' have probably surfed through much of this very friendly, informative and gentle site most days, anyway. As I've posted before, this site is a great feel good, good karma, good music, favourite site of mine, so I'm very biased! I just love it! I turn on my iPad stressed and bugged out; 'tune' in to CH&F; and after half an hour drilling down 'In The Shadows', I'm chilled and human(ish) again! (Thanks for that Charlie) Kindest regards Milko

In France at the Paris Olympia (for the recording LP) June 1975, Hank and Bruce had echo unit Roland RE 201 ! (+ VOX AC30), not John Farrar who used a Peavey amplifier + Morley echo-volume pedal EVO

I saw the Shads in my local theatre in West London around late 1962 and Hank had a baby Binson on stage and a white Strat. I remember walking out after the show with my mates disappointed as they sounded nothing like the records.

Bonjour Gary
je découvre un peu tard comment accéder à ce site, et les questions posées restées sans réponse je vais rechercher mes photos du concert de Juin 1975 à l'Olympia à Paris

You can add most of the tracks on the "Me and my Shadows" album.

I believe Hank had no echo unit when Cliff's first album was recorded. It all sounds like studio reverb to me. Regards, Charlie

He still had the Antoria guitar, and got his first echo unit later when he already had the first Strat bought by Cliff. Didier
