Hello All I am just recovering from a total hard drive crash!!! I have lost ALL my recording projects from 2004 to date - all I have left are the Master Tracks, happily stored on a backup. My Adobe Audition 1.5 has also gone. I have no idea where the disc has gone either - I've had it for donkeys years and I think I got it for Free at the time. HOWEVER - does anyone have one they are prepared to loan me / copy me / sell me etc etc? cheers Ian

Hi Ian,
Is the disk totally dead? Or is it that it just won't boot. If it still spins (without horrid noises) there may be a small chance of some recovery by attaching it to a PC as an external drive.
Just a thought - with so much data on it - it may be worth a try. I could help if you wished.
Also there is professional recovery services that can back most things from the deadist of drives - but at a cost of course!
All the best
Geoff (from the Warwick Club)

Hi Ronnie. Sorted!! Many thanks for the info, my friend. Geoff - on start up, I just get the black screen that lists the chip etc. It gets halfway and I then just doesn't go any further. From there on I can hear no hard drive activity. I guess it still spinning but nothing working. Does that help? Cheers Ian

Hi Ian,
Could be a multitude of things. If you want me to have a go I would be quite happy to try. Just need the hard disk out of the machine.
Let me know.
All the best
Geoff

Cheers Ian It might be something wrong with the BIOS, have you tried starting the BIOS menu ? Sometime restoring the BIOS helps. Didier
