Hiya, I#m not so familiar with EFTP or the VT amps, but I believe the EFTP patches include the amp sim(?), so you would need the amp set 'flat', that's to say, no influence on the sound - impossible in the case of the vast majority of amps. If that's the case, the best course of action is to disable the amp sims on the EFTP patches when using the amp and use the models on the amp - AC15 or 30. Early era sounds, knock the bass and treble all the way down and keep the middle at 12 oclock/5/centred. That should be a good starting point, then adjust the middle if necessary until it sounds about right. For some tunes like Atlantis, turn the bass and treble all the way up and again, mess with the middle. At the end of the day, you are only going to get in the ball park with an amp modeller - even if it were possible, Vox aren't going to make a £130 amp that will sound exactly the same as what their own £1500+ amp can do.
Cheers, Julian

If you don't disable the amp sims in the G2, then keep the treble control of the amp low. The amp sims that I set up in the G2.1Nu will more or less change to suit most tunes. I did this so that the user does not have to keep changing amp settings. Regards, Charlie

Hi Pete
I don't think the VT20+ is suited to "clean" settings as the signal is always being processed by several different (digital) stages even when setting a supposedly "clean" setting.
Take the amp for what it is .... a multi purpose workhorse that can do a reasonable impression of most things & enjoy it for what it is.
I had one for a while & gave up on it (too many buttons & switches) & have bought a Pathfinder 15R just to play around with Shads style music at home (and even small pub gigs/open mic things)
Cheers
Dick.

Just an observation, There are a few threads that are looking for "The ideal" settings for various amps, unless they are all tested in an "anechoic" chamber or other standard room, there will never be a "right" setting.
I haven't played at a gig for more years I can remember, but setting an amp up without the punters all filling the room (or stadium in my case ;D ;D) and all the other variables it don't work... It really is a case of experimenting in the place where you are playing/recording/gigging.
Tin hat on now.
Mike.
