I have a calender at home of custom guitars on this month there is a picture of a guitar built by Master builder Paul Waller. It is a stratocaster ( built to match a 1948 Chevrolet Woody look), which is owned by Eric Clapton only one of two in existence. The body is finger joined ash with mahogany inlaid into it.The neck is one piece of mahogany with ash binding. The guitar was built to Claptons specifications including the neck shape and electronics and set up. The colour of the pick guard and headstock are from the same restored Chevy built by Roy Brizio. I was wondering if anyone can elaborate any more on this guitar which i must say is a amazing looking guitar.I really am sorry I can not supply a picture of it as my computer skills are not up to it. Pete

Hi Pete, I think this is the one your looking for www.streetrodderweb.com/events/1106sr_62nd_annual_grand_national_roadster_show/photo_18.htmlClick the link... ohh to have the money to say "just build this.. don't worry about the expense" Roy Brizio showing off a special Stratocaster guitar built for Eric Clapton by Fender's Paul Waller. Paul, who is into hot rods, came up with the idea to match the woods found in Eric's woodie (the lighter wood is ash, the darker is mahogany) and it took roughly 100 hours to fabricate the one-off guitar. The guitar and car are part of the Axes & Axles display in the Wally Parks NHRA Motorsports Museum (adjacent to the Fairplex and the GNRS) that celebrates the Fender guitars and the hot rodders who play them (including Beck, Clapton, Vaughan, Setzer, Gibbons, and Michael Anthony, to name but a few). best wishes Kay .....cool or what
