Hello Peter - I haven't made any recordings with it yet but will post one here soon. Maybe next week.
The unit is all valve.

Hello Stuart. I sold the Echolette that you are thinking of.
Alan this project took eighteen months to finish and after that I don't want to see the inside of one for a while !!

Where did you get the heads from Rog ?

I used heads taken from two defective Klemt Echolette echo units.
The heads are probably the most difficult items to source

Hi Roger Very impressive - can imagine what at project it's been. Congrats.
Were you lucky to find Echolette heads in useable condition or did you have to do a re-lap?
Would be interesting to know what head timings you decided (compromised) on - to get the most patterns covered, your prefs, etc. The 1-2-3 volume knob indicated the Echomatic II types - but I count 6 play heads. Best of both worlds maybe?

Thank you for your replies Sheendigs, Didier, Chris, and Erik.
Didier the circuitry is roughly 95% Meazzi tape Echomatic, and 5% Echomatic II (drum unit)
Erik the Echolette heads would have been OK but having removed them I did relap them before fitting. The head spacings that I chose give the Echomatic II patterns and the motor speed control allows the most used ones from the Echomatic I.

As promised here is a demo of the unit. I've chosen Wonderful Land as the middle eight damped sections are useful to judge echo patterns. Soundfiles with Hank removed have been used previously by others and it is probably the best way to make comparisons so I've taken the same route. Strat > echo unit > AC15 > Shure SM57 > recorder Wonderful Land
