Hi Jim
It's all down to personal preference really so i will throw in a vote for Coda-Music and Andertons
I have dealt with both shops and found them to be reliable.
They both have websites so pop along and take a look.
Hope this helps
Alan

Hi Jim You can check out the web sites of all the major guitar dealers for a good price nearly all have a customer satisfaction review section. You pay your money you take your chances. One thing I would mention is trying your local guitar dealer, they maybe willing to match the best price also a lot of them will set it up for you and sort out any niggles. This you do not always get when buying on line as they usually come from a warehouse. Good luck to you what ever you choose and I hope you get what you want at a bargain price. Regards Pete

Hi Jim...............As Al says there are many perfectly reliable on-line suppliers. Prices vary little but my experience of different couriers varies considerably.
I bought a LP Ultra from GAK and FEDEX damaged the first two by (I guess) dropping the boxes onto the bottom end and punching the strap button into the bodywork.
My bet would be any dealer who uses City Link (I have no commercial link) which BTW includes Barry Gibson of Burns.
Regards.............Baz

Hi Jim,
I got mine from Reidys Home Of Music Ltd and could not have been more pleased with the service. Before delivery I asked them to check that it was set up properly which they did at no extra cost.
Best regards,
Maurice.

I second what Pete says. Internet deals are nearly always not as good as you can get face to face.
If you're near Birmingham, I can highly recommend a trip into Fairdeal Music. They'll match the 'net price. Ask if it comes with a gig bag... they'l usually throw one in and ask about strings. Luke's the man to see. If you're near Stockport, Sounds Great Music, ask for Rick. For Manchester, PMT (used to be Sound Control)... Colin's 'the man' there.
There's a recession - the high street shops will bend over backwards for your custom.
The online stuff is being shipped directly from a cold warehouse to an cold overnight storage facility to your door.
Cheers, Julian

Hi Julian,
I would prefer to do face to face but I had a bad deal from my local guitar dealer once yes they said all guitars set up in store etc, and all that so I went in bought myself a mim strat and a squier bullet strat for my grandson. Well to cut a long story short the bullet when my grandson opened it had rusty strings intonation was out and the mim I bought was set up his way not mine. I sorted it out myself in the end and never went back.
Regards, Jim.

Hello Jim
I hate ordering online, I have always preferred to walk into a shop and look and touch before I buy, but seeing as all of my local music shops seem to hate newbies and the fact they seem to have stopped selling Fender or squier products in favour of Ibanez my only option was to search online stores.
The best store I have found so far was Andertons. their advice and help in choosing the right guitar for my level of skill or lack of was awesome, they could have tried to sell me something in the £900 range but instead suggested that I look at the CV 50's Squire range.
I ordered on the Tue, was playing by Wed and the packaging was good and no signs of rough play by the courier which was Citylink.

There is a good reason why the average guitar store does not stock new Fender/Gibson etc. The suppliers insist on them holding up to 5 to £10,000 worth of their stock. Unless they secure a dealership, they just simply can't afford to do it. Cheers, Graham

Cheers, Graham That might be true for most, but down here by me, they are still stocking amps, leads, straps and strings by Fender, but the two stores I visited stated they preferred Ibanez to Fender? Thats why I stated in favour of Ibanez, one guy even tried to tell me they were better than Fender? all the best Dave

Bought my 50s classic vibe from Andertons.
This was the first time I had bought online. Couldn't have been more pleased with their service.
Guitar arrived when they said, no damage and ready to play.
Tim.

I agree mate, I was a Les Paul fan before having my first CV 50's strat, since then I haven't touched my LP, The only problem I have now is, who do I allow in bed with me, the wife or the strat? lol
