Pete,
I didn't actually mean it, you know! I've sat in the front row at a British Legion with a pint in front of me watching Albert Lee (twice) and if I didn't give up then I ain't giving up now.
Now excuse me while I just go and find an axe,
All the best, Len

Hi Normg
If you ask google how to download the videos from youtube it will give you lot's of options. You will have to choose the one that's best for you.
I think there was a programme called RealPlayer that would do it,but i don't know if it is still available.

PS I'm no whizz with computers. Digiarty's WinX DVD Ripper has a You Tube downloader built in, its a free download from here : www.winxdvd.com/dvd-author/upgrade.htm?author6.0This is a nice little program that records anything that is playing on your pc whether its from your had drive or a usb stick or from a CD/DVD or streaming from a website like You Tube or a radio or TV site, but its not free. www.fairstars.com/recorder/index.html

Hi Pete I certainly did never tried thumbpicking all the years just normal Dennis picks playing and trying to get better in this. Therefore I did not went to my bits and pieces draw. That guy is probably not a hobby only player, but more a professional musician, doing this most of his time. But still it is always nice to hear different improvisations of a shadows classic. regards shadowkarl Perhaps you still give it a try with the thumbpicks. Could have opended your drawer since Chet Atkins times...

Hi Sandra, Thanks for your reply. I've downloaded winxdvd but cannot see where the you tube downloader is. Can you help. Cheers Norm Hi Norm, When you run Win DVD Author you should have this : The You Tube Downloader option is at the bottom just off centre to the left, below the play button, to the far right of it is the DVD Disc Burner option. Let me know if you are still having trouble finding it and I will try and do a series of screenshots. This one if from the bottom of the page on their main site : www.winxdvd.com/dvd-author/#Title2 I have just realised that there are two free programs from Digiarty that can do you tube downloads, their DVD ripper and their DVD author. Sorry if I confused you as the one that I have used is the DVD author available on the above link, I haven't used their DVD ripper so I don't know where the option is on that one, so grab this one and you will easily see where it is

I don't think you will have any problems with it now, especially if you can cope with earthquake damage then you can probably cope with anything
Sorry for leading you in the wrong direction initially.
I have just come across this site :
www.youtube-mp3.org/
It says its free so I don't know if there's a catch or not. I tried putting a YouTube url in it but it said all their servers were busy and to try again in about an hour. It may be worth having a look
I have just tried again and it says it is converting it and I will be able to download it later. Its done it now so its quite quick and sounds like reasonable quality, presumably it will depend on the bitrate that it was uploaded at. Its a quick conversion and a quick download too. Its done the Orange Blossom Special that Martyn posted earlier on here as a 3.61mb file with a bitrate of 128kbps. I didn't even have to register and it doesn't seem to have added a virus or anything extra to the file that I downloaded so it looks like its ideal for what you want, unless you want the video as well then you can use the DVD Author for that
