author=" philc" Thanks Pete, that's kind of you. Phil PS. I played the original Cavern in 1966 but unlike you I didn't get to meet John Lennon re. Your avatar Phil I Would imagine that was quite a experience seeing the size of it and the size of the stage how Groups/Bands performed on there was amazing I should think the acoustics must have been amazing.Getting the kit in and out must have been a struggle seeing the winding stairway.I said at the time of are visit when you were young you did not think of it all you just had a Buzz about it all.I remember a place in Cheltenham called the 'Blue Moon' it was on the top floor above 'Burtons the Tailors' where i saw a number of groups. The Groups had to carry there Gear up 3 floors the stage was on a angle across the corner how the managed to set up the gear and play on it was mind boggling. No air conditioning then if you were standing around or dancing suddenly big condensation Blobs would drop on you.HAPPY DAYS!!!!!! Keep Smiling Pete

Pete, I can remember leaving Blackpool in our van for a gig, I asked the other guys where it was, they said, Liverpool, I said "where in Liverpool" the Cavern was the reply I can't remember getting the gear in but the dressing room, if you could call it that was through the opening on the left of the stage looking from the front, there was an upright piano there. The place was full but I had the feeling from the audience of "What are you going to give us as we've seen it all"! In fact we went down well but the sound there left much to be desired as it bounced around the brickwork. It was a good experience though playing on the same spot as all the "names" before us, the same as when I was in Abbey Road's Studio 2. Good times.....i'm glad I was there At that time Phil

Very nice Phil, one of my all time greats, but I don't find it so easy to play it is faster than I first thought, well done.

Thanks Mel, appreciated! Re: The tempo, it actually follows the original which speeds up and slows down. Phil Hi Phil, yes that's right, perhaps that is why I am struggling to get to grips with it, still I won't let it beat me as I like it too much, I will be pleased when I can play it as well as you. Regards, Mel
