Hi all
Its really quite amazing just how far the music of the Shadows has travelled. Its gone round the world to some of the most unlikely places. My club [Watford] had an e mail from an Indian guy in Bombay last year who wanted to visit our club while on a business trip to London.
A few weeks later he turned up, in a smart suit, turban and 6 foot tall. It turned out he was the guitarist in a Shads tribute band in Bombay. He got up on stage with a borrowed guitar and played half a dozen numbers beautifully.
It was gratifying to see.

Well.. ;D I am originally from a little island called 'Mauritius'..The Shadows were already apreciated in 1960 and this is where I began to try and play guitar there..It is situated on the east coast of Madagascar.. I went to Brazil afterwards...and what do you know...several groups were springing up based on their style. There was a great group called the Jet Blacks'....I know they spelt it wrong..and they did not know at that time. I moved to Montreal Canada..and guess what?? I founded a group with a French guy and two native Montrealers!! And it is still going strong. You could find some shadows players all over the world.. That's it folks...

Just looking at the countries where I've recently sent the Shadows and EFTP stickers to, Australia, Canada, United States, Belgium, France, Spain, Germany, Thailand, Netherlands and Norway.
Those to regular players, I guess it shows the continued popularity of The Shadows and Hank Marvin music.
Cheers Barry
