Got mine!! Top quality packaging - a full size CD case encased in a hard cardboard sleeve. well designed inner sleeve. The CD itself has been printed to resemble a 45 vinyl record - neat touch. The Music - 14 excellent tracks. So much better, IMHO only, than Guitar Man which was quite good anyway. I have my favourites already and there are 2 that I'm not keen on, but thats just me. Interesting note ( to an Anorak like me anyway) when I put it on to play the CD it comes up with the title - HANK MARVIN - "SUMMER GUITAR" Cheers Ian

You could have phrased the topic title differently, Ian!

It's plucking on all those G strings that could have done it. Cheers Roger

My CD arrived this afternoon - such a surprise to get it 3 days early - Big Thanks to Pat, John & the team at Leo's Den Just had a chance to listen to all the tracks - Had a taste from the 90 second samples that Ian told me about via Itunes. In my opinion its the best CD Hank has made since Guitar Player - Guitar Man has some great tracks but all of these are exceptional ! (IMO) Hank has a really up to date sound for the 21's century - far less echo more up front sound and the tone on of the songs is superb, just a slight bit of edge - No more 0-36 on the Q2 for this album! Lol. A very big input from Ben who is a superb guitarist ! - In Hanks own words he's "Much better than me" makes this CD a really great one. BT of Waterloo Sunset on it's way in a couple of weeks (all being well ) Cheers Phil

I know that I'm not making friends for what I think and will say but...there comes a moment that one has to realize that your time has past. Again, it sounds hard, but it is like The Stones, Clapton, Cliff and so on, they are repeating themselves. I have seen Cliff and The Shadows a few years ago in Holland, as I have seen Clapton and others not so long ago, but, as perfect as it is, "IT", (the magic), is gone. Perhaps it is the memory or it is my age or what ever it might be, I lost the feeling to that magic and speaking to people of my age, they feel the same. It seems like we like to cling to something that isn't there no more
I hope you don't blame me for my honesty, but that is my opinion.
Kind regards, Emiel

Hi Emiel I don't think anyone is going to blame you for your opinion here. The whole point of posts like these s to allow us all to air our own opinions whether they are shared by others or not. There is some truth in what you say. We do cling to past memories and, often don't hear what we think we heard years ago. That to me, is the thing about music, it changes(not always for the better) but, we still find something to our taste. Without music, I think it would be a sad world indeed.
Regards Roger

Exactly Pete. AS they say, nostalgia is a thing of the past but, I will continue to look back fondly at the sights and sounds I enjoyed back then, with affection. We are after all, a mixture of today's influences and, our past experiences. I for one, will continue to enjoy music until they nail the lid down(after dropping my Strat in with me). Regards Roger
