Looking on the well known auction site there is a Baldwin Marvin for sale for £1.795 it look identical to a Burns Does anyone know the reason and history of this and why? Does anyone have one and do they sound different to the Burns Marvin?I have seen video clips of Hank playing both types. Pete

Hi Pete
The Baldwin Marvin and burns Marvin are basically the same. Baldwin took over burns guitars in the late 60's and had stacks of Marvin parts left so the made marvins and put Baldwin branding on them.

Think of Baldwin as Burns' & Gretsch's 'CBS'...

Pete, take a look at the youtube link in the "Shadows in the 60's thread, Hank and Bruce are playing Baldwins at the end.
That looks like a nice guitar and has the age cracks in the paintwork, of course the early 60's Marvin's go for a lot more.
