Hi All I'm shortly playing 2 Gigs in the N.E. and will be using their backline. I usually use a Q2 EFTP (with a Zoom2000EFTP racked up with it in case the Q2 gives up - as it has done on occasion - and use Q2 patch 30 (or Zoom2000 patch 36) for a nice big echo sound when needed but the guys there dont have a QUAD GT EFTP patch on their list that compares. Can anyone advise please. Cheers Ian

Hi Ian, I don't remember the patch number but if there is a set of EC6 patches on that GT, look for the patch called EC6 3456 as that will be the nearest to what you want. Regards, Charlie

Many Thanks Charlie I'll email them tonight and let you know. cheers ian
PS- WHY would a Q2 suddenly drop almost all its volume (when gigging) and then when I get it home its absolutely fine, even if it leave it on for hours!!? So annoying!

Hi Ian, Possibly a bad connection in one of the connectors between the front panel control pots and the main board. Best cleaned not by removing the connectors but by spraying a little electronic switch cleaner into the connector holes and then wiggling the wires in a north/south motion a few times. Regards, Charlie

Regards, Charlie Hi Charlie I have a can of that "somewhere". Next time the rack is here, I'll haul it out and try that. Not being electrical or indeed electronically minded, is it just a matter of unscrewing the case and finding the connector block between the Input and Output level knobs and the board and then spraying as per your instruction? cheers ian

Hi Ian, Yes, there are 3 screws on top and 3 screws at the rear, then you can remove the top lid. If there are security labels, cut through them and do not remove them. You will see two cables from the pots board, each cable with a connector at each end. Work on the two connectors on the main board first and see if that does the trick. The connectors at the pots end are a bit harder to get to especially as they are upside down but by all means clean them in the same way if you want to. You can test the unit with the top lid off. As already mentioned, do not remove the connectors, as that will most likely make the problem worse. Be careful when refitting the outer two top screws as they screw into the soft alloy end cheeks. Back turn them until they click, and then they should screw home OK. You might need to squeeze the top to align the holes a little easier. Regards, Charlie

Thank you, Charlie - will do. Problem always seems to come after its been running a while, so will have to let it "soak" for an hour or so.
Cheers Ian
