Hi Scanners,
Yes Jim died after a long battle with cancer some 4 weeks ago, I had the privilege to see him perform many times in the last couple of years as he was in a trio called Cotton, Keays and Morris, which was daryl Cotton (Ex Zoot) and the great Russell Morris all big stars in OZ in the 60s/70s, Daryl died 2 years ago and was not 60. I also got a book signed by Jim and a large photo of him and his trio which they all signed for me. In Melbourne in the late 60s the Masters apprentices were a big deal and played a lot of original music. Jim was only in his late 60s and had "Always look on the bright side of life" as they took him from the church. A great muso and a great bloke.
