Hi all
Thought we needed to get a demo up of the sound of my G&L S500 Strat (Tribute Series). This was played by our own John Clayton (normally a bass player with a Shads Tribute Act) who agreed to let me film him playing. The echos are not EFTP or exotic Tape machines just two pedals put together and timed to get the echo sound and the amp is a solid state Orange amp (No Valves here) built by our own Roger Busby. A graphic EQ pedal has been used to further enhance the live sound.
The video and sound is off a Samsung Galaxy Mobile phone.
Hope it gives you an insight into this guitar for Shadows application.

Excellent demo of the live sound. Any more - perhaps using the bridge pickup, which for me so defines the traditional Shads' strat sounds?
regards, Martyn

Thank you each Alan, Pete, Istvan, Martyn and Mel. Glad you liked the sound we got on this recording.
Martyn no more done as of yet re the other Pickups but I assure you the bridge and Mid do the job. We had some really good sounds during the night and several players used the S500 strat and all agree it is a great guitar with some keen to buy their own at some point.
I recall Apache and Wonderful Land (bridge PUs) both sound as good as they ever did on a ordinary Strat and to our ears we thought better. Matter of opinion of course.
I will try to get a few more but going on holiday soon so bear with me.

Hi Roger. Absolutely beautiful sound. You must be so chuffed with that. You would never tire of playing this guitar. I like your echo very much too. Nicely done. Excelent all round video.

Thanks Duncan. The gear is a mates who builds his own amp cabs and puts different speakers in to get the sounds he wants and the echos sound good on this live recording yet they are just two echo pedals timed to give a multi-tap type of sound. Yes very happy with the new guitar thanks.

It made me think, my zoom ms-70cdr has several twin delay settings that can be controlled individually. Do you have any tips as to the way you set each one to achieve this effect. I remember seeing someone on Youtube doing a similar thing. Must look it up. Regards, Duncan.

Well my mate sets it up and he uses one MXR delay pedal with a Marshall delay pedal and th MXR has a bit of modulation on it that works well. The video on UTube demonstrates how to do it. I think the MXR provides the main echo note and the Marshall produces the trickles if that makes sense.
