Hi all
I know a few of you are using the ipad and need some help.
I am using jamup with the AC30 sim and paid for the multitap and a compressor and it sounds good. Could some help me with a couple of things?
which mode should I use 1,2, 3 or 4 on the delay?
I used the simple 8 tracker. inserting a backing track into track 1 and play guitar on track 2. Nice and simple, but the song will not save. Go to save gave it a name but nothing there when trying to open.
any other amp sims to try e.g. DC30 (which will cost a few pounds)?
thanks once again

Stan, I use JamUp exclusively for my BTs amp sims and effects when playing both at gigs and at home. I can't help you with the 8-tracker as I have not really used it, but I use the multi-tap echoes a lot.
My own settings are as follows:
Four basic Shads tune set-ups: Leave BPM swith in OFF (up) position for all.
(Purists should look away, now!)
1: Repeat Rate - 2 Intensity - 7 Eco Vol - 4 Mode Selector - 3 I use this for tunes like Shindig
2: Repeat Rate - 1.5 Intensity - 7 Eco Vol - 7 Mode Selector - 3 Tunes like Wonderful Land
3: Repeat Rate - 2.5 Intensity - 6 Eco Vol - 7 Mode Selector - 3 Tunes like Man Of Mystery
4: Repeat Rate - 3 Intensity - 5 Eco Vol - 7 Mode Selector - 4 Tunes like Sleepwalk
These are, I must emphasize, settings which I find good for the sort of tunes indicated and are not meant to be exact copies of Shads echoes.
Another generally useful one is:
4: Repeat Rate - 1 Intensity - 6 Eco Vol - 6 Mode Selector - 3
I do have others set up, but those are the ones I use most. Hope this helps.
Cheers

Thanks noel. Much appreciated. I love the fact that the ipad has no interference noise. Unlike my zoom g5 which is interference prone when connected via the usb. The amp sim on the ipad also sound as good (to me) as the zoom and even my real amps.

Stan, I've been playing for many years and have had a huge variety of sound gear, including Vox and Fender. I was a valve-amp purist until a few years back, and carted a Freelander-full of equipment with me on all my gigs.
These days, the iPad into the Bose L1 compact, via the iRig Stomp interface gives me the best sounds I have ever had.

for me it's home use only so my Vox ac30h2l is sitting gathering dust (along with other bits and pieces. Shame there is no specialist car boot sale.
the Bose looks interesting but would be overkill for home use.

The Bose is actually great for home use too, but probably a tad expensive if that's all it was to be used for.

Stan, regarding the eight-track, I have just bought the full version and haven't encountered a problem with saving and then reloading. There is a manual for JamUp on the Positive Grid website, which includes instructions for the eight-track.
Cheers

thanks Noel
I too have the full version. It wont save with the latest IOS8 on my ipad but just tried it on my ipod which is still IOS7 and it saves. On the website they say there is an issue with IOS7 and working on it. Which IOS are you using?
Hi Dave leave it in the order they have it to start with. The free version has the AC30 sim, delay and a reverb. You can add for a small cost a multitap which Noel has kindly give his settings.
once you have the hardware the rest is relatively cheap and very good value.

Stan, I haven't updated the iPad to iOS8, and am still running the last version of 7 because of known issues with 8. I may not even update the iPad again because it is now used mainly for my music and everything is just fine for what I need (I'll probably just buy another iPad for general use).
Dave, try not to get overwhelmed - choose one amp sim an play around with that, then work slowly through the other stuff, a bit at a time.
