Hello Everybody, I have just registersd on PHOTOBUCKET ,I want to post some pictures of a guitar. I get my picture selected and can get the link copied, then I go to the create a thread page, 1. Where do I paste the copied link to.? 2.Should the link come up in blue? 3.Is there an easier site to use? As I am useless with all this computer stuff any help/suggestions would be very helpful. Thanks Ray.

Hi Ray, I don't have all the answers, and others are much better at it than I am. You paste the link in your post while you are writing it. Normally you would write some lines to explain the pic, then paste the link under that, but you can write under the link too. I think the link should be blue after you have posted it. I'm not sure if you will even see it in blue on the preview page. Regards, Charlie

When you have uploaded your Piccy into Photobucket, choose the "direct" option and copy and paste it into your thread, remembering to hit the "return" key to make it Live. See my Peace Pipe Reggae thread to see how it looks when you do it. You can upload to Box.net or Dropbox etc but Photobucket is easy to use. Try it in this thread and come back if it doesn't work. Make sure your pics are not too big when you upload them to Photobucket, around 800 to 1500 pixels wide is ok.

Thanks Charlie and Ian, I've managed to post my photos onto the NEW PROJECTS section but they have come up as photos not as a link to click on. I'm not sure what I am doing wrong. Anyway thanks for your help, Best Wishes Ray.

When you go on Photobucket you should see a page like this. Yes / No? It should upload to your "Library". I cant find "New Projects" anywhere. when you've uploaded via that drag and drop uploader, go to the "Library" and find your pic and click on it. It will then give you a screen like this. Click on the IMG (right hand side, bottom of the 4 options) and then copy and paste into your thread. Does that work for you. BTW - I have no prob with size of pics - er - so far. Let us know Ian

Ian, I prefer to go straight to a file in my library from my pc via "My Favourites" all the pictures are shown in icons for that page, the first icon however is blank, I just click on that to upload into that folder.
Some forums restrict the picture size to 800 pixels so that has to be established before the upload or the link won't work when posted.
Ray, when you post a link it will initially be blue but when you view your post, a picture will appear.

Hi Ian and Phil, Thanks for taking the trouble to sort my problem out. I managed to download the pics. as you kindly showed.I think I confused the issue a little ( I did say I was useless with computers )by mentioning NEW PROJECTS .What I meant was PROJECTS IN PROGRESS ,the board on Charlies site. I have managed to put 2 pics on the post but somehow deleted 1 pic. I've also discovered how to take photos in a smaller format,as advised by Phil. What I was hoping to do was to put a link on the post so that people could click on it to see the pics. not having the pictures showing all the time. Maybe that's not possible, I thought that it wouldn't use as much space up on the site. I think I need a lie down!!!!
Thanks again----Ray.

Ray it IS possible. You have 4 options - one of them - cant remember which cos I'm off base at the moment will allow you to copy and paste the Link only. Try them and see which one works. Nothing will explode!! Honest!!. lol!! cheers ian
