Doing a gig last night (1 hr 40 Mins) and although I only do about 40% of the vocals, with 3 numbers to go I lost my voice I'm at the back end of a heavy head cold but was not prepared for this. Problem is I've got another gig on this Saterday (13th)........Anybody got a wonder cure they've used in the past. Baz

I saw Glen Campbell some years ago, and he told us he was just getting over a cold, but that he's found these amazing lozenges in England and asked to be excused for continually sucking them on stage. His singing was just as good as always so they must have worked for him.
They were Fisherman's Friend.
Good luck with your gig Baz,
Len

Baz..We use manuka honey, tho it can be seriously expensive depending on the content(£35 roughly) We also gargle daily with Sanderson's throat mixture..and swallow the last bit.Absolutely disgusting taste but god its good. Not that common in shops or chemists hence why we buy it on line. Also steaming helps the throat immensely when hoarse or suffering from loss of voice. One of the worst things you can do for a bad condition voice, believe it or not is whisper..and constantly clear the voice from phlem. The lead singer in my duo has had two major nodule operations and we have spoke to many highly rated specialists regarding looking after his voice. PS. If you have already had a nodule/polyps op...forget the Sanderson's....by a steamer, and use it three times a day.If you haven't...try the lot Cheers.....Steve

We buy it. Some stores even have the 15x strength one too.

Hi All.....just found a website for vocalists that recommends gargling with dilute apple cider vinegar....they say its a wonder cure for removing catarrh from the vocal chords...........coupled with rest of the voice and warm up exercises before letting rip. Baz

Higuys.........just to record that my gig last night went well and with the Fishermans Friends, gargling cider vinegar and the odd brandy , I got thr (rofl)u it. First time I've done two gigs in a week for about 25 years ... and this morning its all too apparent that I'm getting too b....y old for this malarkey (71 by end of month) .It's humping all the gear around that's the killer.....and the wife was fine as a groupie but hopeless as a roadie I'll stick to studio work from now on Baz

Hi Baz..Glad the show went well. Its surprising what you can pull out the bag when your on stage eh.Somehow we seem to get through a show, regardless of obstacles that we would assume would stop us getting through our set...Cheers.....Steve
