Hi All I've put this in General - if you need to move it, please do so. Thanks. Can anyone please advise why I have this “noise” in my Chain set-up. app.box.com/s/ycd5mz7jxomr4dd0winiq7e3l8u6r0f7The Chain is Guitar – AlesisQ2 or Zoom2000 – Boss Compressor pedal – Joyo AcTone (or Korg Ampworks) – PC DAW. By Substitution I can say that the Noise is coming from the Amp Sims as going straight from Boss compressor to DAW is virtually silent. Both items are battery driven, so no mains noise there. I can de-hiss the guitar track a little but that darned “whistle”!!!Grr!!! Any ideas appreciated. Cheers ian ps – the track is lifted +6db on the original signal so it can be heard clearly. Turns out that the Chain order was the culprit - Chain now is Guitar - Boss CS-3 compressor - Joyo ACTone - Alesis Q2 - DAW and no evident hioss or whistle. Many thanks for bearing with me on this. Much appreciated. ian

I played it and all I could hear was a slight hiss! I thought I could hear up to around 14KHz. If the whistle is at a higher frequency than that, you can probably filter it out without losing the tone you want to keep. Have you tried it without the compressor to see what happens? Regards, Charlie

Hi Charlie thanks for giving it a listen. I have replaced the file with one at +24db. Maybe the "whistle" will be more obvious. There is a lot of white noise in there but there is also a high pitched whistle - its a b OR C note but of quite a high freq. Its definitely the Amp Sim - the Boss COmpressor is silent, even on Full Gain. If you have time to listen to the Sound File Kay and I did "Today I Started Loving You Again", there is a whistle at 0.40 that I couldnt cut out. Grr! It just one of those darned annoying things. Cheers ian

Hi Ian, Yes, I can hear the whistle now. It doesn't seem much above the hiss level though. Glad you have solved it anyway! Regards, Charlie
