I currently play lead/2nd guitar in a 60's/ 70's band and need an amp with plenty of clean headroom and guts that wont cause my hernia op to relapse when I have to carry it.............or cost a fortune (or even a small fortune)
Anybody tried one of these??? (or its predecessor the 80XL)
Baz
PS how about the Fender Mustang III v2.?..

I have an 80XL in my studio for general usage and it is an excellent one box package.....plenty of grunt, great clean channel based on the JC 120 and a good selection of
COSM lead amps/ sounds. All the effects you'll ever need, tuner and a looper as well. The Direct Out is also very good if you want to feed the PA....totally hum and noise
free.......and you can actually pick it up and carry it about.....
I believe the successor the GX isn't as well rated as the earlier model but it is a bit cheaper, although there are always a few XLs up for sale if you look around.
Cheers, Paul....

Hi Paul... for the heads up on the Roland..............I noticed that in the current issue of Guitarist mag they suggested the 80GX as worth a listen to a jazz player who needs plenty of clean headroom as well. Regards Baz
