I was sent an e.mail purporting to be from, PayPal, informing me that my account was going to be deleted if I didnt answer the e.mail within 3 days. I looked further and found a few obvious spelling mistakes, also it was addressed to, Dear customer PayPal always address their e.mails to you personally.
I contacted PayPal, and they said it was a scam. I also reported it to my bank just in case.
Always be aware of this type of e.mail. The sender made a very good job of trying to fool people. On this occasion I was lucky. PLEASE BE AWARE.
Regards. Tuffty.

Hi Tuffty, Thanks for reporting this one. Seems like these days it is best to consider everything a scam until proven otherwise. Regards, Charlie

Thanks Tuffty For bringing this to everyone's attention.I had the same email sent to me and checked it and noticed also the email address was not the same as Pay Pal's it was made to look good but to get your information they have to use a different address so always check the senders email address first.

had this one a few times now just delete it. another twist on an old scam is when they ring you and say they are from microsoft and its been reported you have a fault with your computer, the new twist is they are saying they are from bt now, its the same team as other scam. they will also tell you even if your not with bt, that is who is supplying broadband indirectly. just hang up. peter

I always forward them to : spoof@paypal.com Didier

Blimey, you're lucky if you've only just had one of these. They've been around a long time - I've been receiving them regularly for several years!

There is now a VirginMedia scam doing the rounds. So if you are on VM and receive an email saying your account is scheduled for disconnection - ignore it. This affects presumably anyone with a VM account and/or email address eg ntlworld.com.
