Hello everyone, We have just changed the provider hosting the TVS web site and also took the opportunity to revamp much of the site. It is still at the same address: www.tvsspecialtyproducts.com and, in addition to information about the TVS echo units, this site contains a wealth of information for those interested in vintage equipment and the music of Hank Marvin and The Shadows, including: • Two new videos discussing which tunes were played on Stratocaster and Burns guitars (with some examples of tunes played on both guitars), and when flat wound strings might have been used (again with some comparisons of tunes played with both). • Details of the guitars, echo units and amplifiers used by Hank over the years. • A series of four tutorials on how to get “That Sound”. • A video demonstrating how Hank’s change in playing style has led to changes in his sound, using Apache as an example. • A video that lets you hear the sound of the various echo units used by Hank. • A juke box of most of the tunes of the Shadows from the early Stratocaster and Burns periods showing how close you can get to the original sound with current equipment. • Videos of some of the most iconic Shadows tunes. We hope you enjoy the site and would welcome any feedback. Cheers Spike

PS: The site may be down for a couple of days as Telstra are sorting out some DNS Propagation problems.

Sorry Spike, the TVS may be a good Unit , bud it 's too pricey in my opinion, There are meanwhile equal solutions on the market for a reasonable price.:..

Hi Gerd,
Thanks for responding, we certainly respect people's opinions about equipment. However, the intended purpose of the announcement was to bring attention to the wealth of information on the site that could be of interest to the general Shadows community, whatever their equipment line-up or skill level. For example, how has Hank's change in playing style affected his sound, how different did the various echo units used by Hank sound, what is the difference in sound between flat and round wound strings, and so on.
That said we are currently experiencing a small hitch in the launch of the new site and it may be a day or so before the new site is fully up and running. We hope you can be a bit patient.
Paul.

Hi Paul and Spiro,
It's a cool new website! Much better than the old one indeed.
I agree it has wealth of information about Shadows and Hank related stuff that will be of interest to most Shads fans, hence this announcement!
Regards, Robby
P.S: I can't seem to find the new videos though. Are they in Sound & Video section?

Hi Robby,
Thanks for your kind comments.
The two new videos are caught up in the site transfer (which seems to be on again, off again just at the moment!), but it should all be sorted in a day or so. They will be in the Sound and Video section.
Best Regards,
Paul.

Hi Robby
Thanks for your feedback. The new site has finally been fixed for dns problems and one of the new links on "Strat or Burns" is now available for everyone on this site to see. The other one will be on Strings and I will add to the website sometime tomorrow.
As Paul said the information on the teaching videos and the two new links will be of interest to all Shads fans.
Also the new juke box is much better than the old one. We have put all the popular Shads tunes at the front and the rest are in kind of alpha order. I will try and fix the order a bit better in the near future
