Hello all I've always 'hankered' :Dafter a George Harrison rosewood telecaster--never been able to source one and probably couldn't have afforded it even if I could have. Solution --have a replica made. I have a solid rosewood tele neck and I've been saving a solid billet of rosewood for making the body. I have asked Alan Brason but his current commitments professional and family mean that he is unable to offer assistance --(incidently he did a sterling repair to my Anniversary Marvin Burns neck which I posted about some time back --thanks Alan) The rosewood billet cost quite a bit so I'm not about to offer the job to any Tom Dick or Harry. Anybody recommend an alternative artisan to Alan for the build? Regards David

Hi David, Just in case you weren't aware, Fender Japan did a rosewood Tele many years ago. I wonder if Ishibashi in Japan would be able to help? Regards, Charlie

Here's one that may be of interest from The Stratosphere in USA. I have bought stuff from them before and they are very good....

Hi David. John Le Voi is an excellent luthier. He specialises in Macafferri style guitars. I have on of his Arch tops which is a truly beautiful guitar. I know he can do repairs.
I live in Japan so if you need assistance re contacting Ishibashi perhaps I will be able to help.
Best wishes Dave

Hi Dave...............try peter allen at http://www.guitartechnicalservices.co.uk...............before setting up his own business he was factory manager at Patrick Eggle guitars.
I've had a number of guitars set up by him and his attention to detail is astonishing.
I know that he does build guitars from scratch and has had some highly valuable vintage guitars pass through his workshop.
Baz
PS he's based near to Warwick

Hi Dave...............I just checked out Pete Allen's website (first time for some time now) and he does also have the names and details of other luthiers he's personal knowledge of, although they will again be based in the Midlands......Hope this helps.

He set up my Brason Strat (already sounding and playing well) recently and weaved some kind of magic as it feels ever better than ever and the tone/sound is simply wonderful. Ian

Ian Agreed - Peter worked on all of my guitars when I was in the UK - consistently excellent.
