Recently purchased a BOSS BR1200 from "you know where" and this track has been laid down pretty quickly to test its functionality. So I've used the desk's on board FX and drum machine, plus my home assembled Strat and amp(see avatar) a USA Tele. a Farida bass and a s/h Yamaha E323 keyboard. Hope you'll take a listen and let me have any thoughts/questions. IMHO It's about making music, not what amp, guitar, pickups etc Baz app.box.com/s/bhc615a5yrmkz1rubc7wbbw0ryo3jjbu here's my BT ....feel free to use it app.box.com/s/oww9dj77wvw1xzgztmisd90im6hz21wm

Answer - Doris Day - 1963. Very well put together, I thought. Nice Strat tones and playing and I liked the BT too. Ian

Hi Baz
Very much enjoyed your song. Glad to hear other's are also using their own assembled guitars etc. I have a good collection of around 15 guitars including US strats, Burns Marvin etc. And AC30 amp etc. But, my favourite guitar to play is still one (Black Eagle) I completely made from scratch, raw wood, inlaying, fretting binding etc etc. I do have real Fender vintage pickups on that guitar and it plays as good as the real thing. Actually made around 10 guitars over the years. In a way it's a good/great feeling, sense of achievement, to play on your own made guitar.

Hi Val...thanks for your interesting post regarding home built guitars............you're right it is very rewarding to use and record an instrument that is your own work............but..............I must be honest and admit that what I've done pales into insignificance compared to what you've achieved............OK I know that even with pre cut necks and bodies you still need to be meticulous over assembly, finishing and set up...........but this is as nothing compared to you shaping bodies and necks from blanks and then adding frets and inlays!!!!!!!.............bravo Regards Baz

Hi Baz That was very nice indeed and I have listened to it and enjoyed a number of times through my headphones and Hifi. GC64 asked who did this song before. As well as Doris Day, Tracey Allman (back on UK TV again) did a version/video with a very well know guitarist (with Fiesta Red Strat) at the beginning. See Youtube www.youtube.com/watch?v=MZpehLJ5OYgNice Steam loco as well! Regards Ade

Hi Ade........thanks for your post........I checked out the Tracey Allman version before laying this down.....
I decide to slow down the tempo from both hers and D.D's version.

Hi Baz
Sometimes the quick songs are the ones that end up the best. Really enjoyed that.

Hi Val
Always loved this tune and only being 48 years of age ! I actually heard the Tracey Ullman version before I heard the original by Doris Day.Terrific all round production from you and very well done on your use of the Boss BR. I had a Boss BR 800, which was very good, the mastering presets were excellent. You've made a great instrumental out of a great old song and I think this is definitely going on my to do list.
