The resin and adhesive kind of impregnation of the cardboard give the strength they needed...so the cardboard is kinda rock solid except some holes that are not filled with resin... The guitar of it's own does sound very "short" in sustain.....the bucked load of distortion and re-verb/echo is plastering the "natural sound" of the strat complete to a different zip code....well that's a sign of modern times....all you can hear on most of the web demo's or in the shops is electric gizmo's.....
