Just wondering what people do when recording video clips, who uses a miced up amp (traditional way) or amp modeling software. I got a IK multimedia i rig pre hoping to use my i pad, i downloaded The amplitube basic app for I pad, but it won't work with Apple I movie. I went to the Apple store they weren't much help, said they don't know about outside products and told me to download garage band, which I did and that's confusing to use. I've been looking at getting Amplitube 4 that has complete amp modeling and everything, supported by major brands Fender etc ( not Vox but it does have an AC30 model) Id just have to plug the H&C into the computer, only thing it's very expensive. Another one is Mixcraft it has audio and video editing included. Amplitube & Mixcraft here www.youtube.com/watch?v=X9854a2Nwc8 www.youtube.com/watch?v=HEDMfXMQPHcMatthew

Hi Matthew
Amplitube is great for recording but ive never tried using the ipad for filming aswell.
For me the setup ive found that works best is micing up or with an amp modeller. I record either way in to Audacity with the backing track on a separate channel. I video me playing using 2 normal cameras (most of the time) and then i use a programme called cyberlink power director to mix the audio with the video. My friend Dave Monk did some great videos on this if your interested. Please see below

Matthew,
For my videos I record the video and audio on my Panasonic FZ200 camera. At the same time I'm also recording the audio (mic'd up amp) on my iPad with the Focusrite Tape app (free) and Griffin StudioConnect.
Up until now I have used iMovie on my iPad to edit the video. When I'm happy with that, I then import the audio and sync it up.
However, I have just downloaded Pinnacle Pro for iPad which looks to be better featured than iMovie, although with a greater learning curve.
Hope this helps.
Tim.
