Hi all, I have a VoxAC30TB and sounds very well. I'm looking for an amplifier more portabable with a good clean sound and able to switch to lower watts. Roland has a new amp 'Roland Blues Cube Hot' and this one seems to be a very good one, maybe also for The Shadows sound. Here is a link to that amp. Have a listen and tell what you think about this. www.youtube.com/watch?v=rCPjX6O1rgIRegards Janus

Hi Janus......had a look at the vid and the amp looks ok....not sure about it replacing a Vox AC30 TB tone wise though for the Shads' stuff..... if you are picky... I have the Roland Blues Cube Artist which is one of the dearer models in the Roland line and I can confirm that it does have a very good clean sound and with the right echo does a good Marvin.....if you are gigging then your average audience member wouldn't know any difference from the Vox probably... More astute aficionados, as you can meet on here, will be able to tell.... Plus points for the Roland are .....you can actually pick it up and carry it, being a Roland it is reliable, you don't have to buy valves and the power switch is great if you want to use it at home, especially for recording.... Hope this was a help, Cheers, Paul......

Thanks Paul for your reply. I will keep my Vox in every way. This amp stays in my 'musicstudio' in the attic room. To play in another room downstairs and to spare my back, I want a more portable one. I can use my YMS, or Alesis Q2 or Hall & Collins Echo and have a good sound. Maybe the USB connection is very interesting for recording indeed. To play more bluesy things is also a possibility.

Janus,
If it's only for playing at home why don't you go for a Valvetronix? For exactly the same reason as you - having to carry my gear up and downstairs sometimes - I bought a VT20+. It's got some great sounds (the AC30 Heritage setting makes early Shadows tones perfectly) and two volume controls so that once your tone is set you can easily reduce the noise level. I've got plenty of power for home use and recording, but if you wanted more the VT40+ isn't much heavier or much more expensive.
Regards,
Len

Janus,
Agree with Len, you can't go far wrong with a VT20+. I absolutely love mine. Good AC30 tones, but if you play anything else, it's got some other great tones hiding in there.
It can be a bit tricky to get to grips with the controls, but it's a great amp.
Tim.

The Blues cube series are very good if you are after that Fender tweed sound, and don't want replace valves and want something lightweight, they sound fantastic. They also have a few extra features that the blues deluxe doesn't have, boost, tone lift and duel tone Matthew

Hi Len, Tim and Matthew, thanks for your answer. The sound of a good VoxAC30 is my favorit. I also like the sound of a warm clean Fender with a nice reverb. The new Roland Blues Cube amps have good reputations, that's why I am interesting in this one. I think we must wait several weeks to see this amp in the music shops. I'm looking forward. Regards Janus
