I'm sure many members use Box.com free account to host their soundfiles as I do myself. This weekend another member has reported that one of my BT's would not download and after checking my account I did find that my monthly Bandwidth limit of 10 GB had been exceeded. I'd never heard of bandwidth before and as I've only used 4% of my cloud storage it had never occurred to me that there was some other limit on my account. Bandwidth apparently is the extent to which shared files can be downloaded per month and 10 GB per month sounds like a substantial amount. Strangely if I paid £7 a month to upgrade, theres' no reference to what extent bandwidth would increase. Any one else come across this or got other thoughts on the topic? Regards Baz

I don't do as much recording as you Baz, so it'll be sometime before I get anywhere near the limits on my account. It's likely that your BTs are more popular than you realise and people are taking advantage of your generosity without any acknowledgement.

Hi Baz, It does seem unlikely to have 10GB download in a month. Unless you have videos or are using Wav files rather than MP3.
10 GB is 10,240 MB and if you use MP3 size of 6 MB which is on the high end, that's still over 1700 downloads a month, over 50 a day ... every day.
There have been reports that the bandwidth quota is not always properly reset to 0 on the 1st day of the month, so check and if this is the case contact support and ask them to investigate and reset it manually. I have always found them quite responsive to questions, though sometimes it takes a couple of days.
According to Box, the bandwidth quota for all paid accounts is 1 TB /month. That's 1024 GB !
Cheers George

I have just checked my Box account (which is a free one same as Baz). The storage limit is 10gb, however in the account information section I did notice there was a download of 815Mb OF 10Gb. So it looks like the bandwith allowed is the same capacity as the 10Gb storage limit. Interesting, as I thought bandwidth went out with the dinosaurs!

Hi Guys........if you go into your own box account settings and find help, you can register as a forum user and check out questions which have arisen with bandwidth.
From your account page you will also find (for a free account) that you have a 10GB monthly bandwidth allowance which should zero-ise at the start of each month.........from at least one of the forum posts it would seem that this doesn't always happen and then contacting Box direct will be necessary.
I think that I will find this necessary next week (i.e.after 1st May) because my Mp3 files (as George has suggested) average around 7 or 8 MB so I find it extremely unlikely that downloads of one or two of my files have managed to reach 10.3 GB (as shown on my account page) in the period from April 1st to date.
We shall see.
Regards
Baz
