Hello all,
Please can someone tell me that its going to be okay to put a hank decal on top of my brand new fender strat fiesta red nos 1956 (built in 2016). Some say it might react with the neck...
Please can someone advise
Joe

If its one of the water base slide transfer "fakes" from a "certain p!ace" it should be OK. If its a "sticky" one, be careful - the adhesive might react. Ian

Hi,
It is a slide water based fake one. From the place that shall never be named! Do you know how i can remove the "original C... Body" on the top of the headstock??
Cheers Joe

I wouldn't start removing original decals Joe, you could easily damage the varnish.

personally Joe i wouldn't go messing around with a brand new guitar of that value. And after all Hanks original strat never had his signature on the top it was just how yours is.

Steve's right the original strat didn't have Hank signature on top of the headstock....but Hank put his initials HBM on the body upper with transfer or kinda adhesive leters.
Joe, congrats you've devalued this instrument with a few bob....any guitar lover with some knowledge can spot it in a jiffy.... Because there isn't a Hank signature guitar made with such a decal and the 56 NOS specs.....ever....the 50th comes close but that one didn't have a signature. So a Fender adept, isn't amused and a Hank devote either.
So there's another fake signature strat made by his owner.....
I hope when you gonna sell this guitar to others with this decal and keep it under your hat what is was as original...
Cheers Rob

Hi Rob,
If i never sell it i will have the signature professtional removed and get the original back on. I would never sell it with it on its unfair on fender and Hank of course.

Hi Joe,Fender don't seal the headstock decals on the nos range so you shouldn't have a problem replacing/removing them ,might be a good idea to not seal or lacquer over the HM one. regards gary

Why would you want to put a Hank decal on your Strat?
