I think I'll be giving those a miss Sheendigs. They'd have to sound spectacular to make up for how ugly they are.
I suppose somebody somewhere might like them.

Just shows how subjective design is, Len, I think they look great! Not sure how they would sound though without the resonance from a full body.

In the early sixties, the "Ohio" guitars made by french luthier Jacobacci had a neck made of aluminium alloy. Many french rock guitarists started with these guitars, before switching to more expensive Fender or Gibson guitars. Ohio guitars are now very rare. Didier

In the 70s, Kramer made guitars with aluminium necks. They were very playable but suffered from tuning problems caused by thermal expansion.

You're right of course Noel, and it's probably just me being a stick in the mud, but I can't help thinking that they look like they're put together from a Meccano kit.
