Hi Pete..not used the "gold" but have their "hybrid" on a home built strat which I think not only sound great but are remarkable value for money.
You may find some demos on You Tube

Hi Pete......if your after a Hank B sound I guess the golds will suit although I see they now do an "origin" set. Just for comparison here a link to a track I posted using my strat with hybrid pups app.box.com/s/ypbuej8aycm2plrmtp5v Baz

Great to hear from you Peter, hope you`re well.
I`ve still got the same setup except for the mixer, I sold the one I had and got a Yamaha. Nice bit of kit but I`ve still got the "L" plates on it.
You mean you actually made a Strat? That`s amazing, I wouldn`t even know where to start, would be great to see a pic if you get time. As I said, The Ironstone golds sound great and, if that`s what you bought, I`m sure you`1l be pleased with them. I recently bought a set of Kinman Impersonator fat 50`s but I`ve now decided that I don`t want to put them in my current strat so, I`ve decided to get another one. Haven't got it yet, still looking around.
Take care and bye for now.
Adrian

Hi Adrian. Made the back three guitars back in the early nineties, the strat I have recently fitted a new flamed rock maple neck I was never satisfied with the neck I made it never felt right. The body is one piece mahogany painted with ford fiesta red,in them days tried to do everything on the cheap bits from here bits from there, didn't have the internet then.I had a good mate then he was good with electrics and I did the woodwork. Cheers Peter

Hello Peter, I fitted the Ironstone golds to my Strat 4 years ago they are terrific, cost then under £30 delivered for all three, easily worth that EACH, also the guy is great to deal with, BTW a tip, you must stipulate if you want staggered or straight poles, Cheers, Frank.
