Hi Guys, I'm using Apogee Jam into an iMac with GarageBand. Can anybody help with Amp selection and settings for a run of the mill Shads sounds. Cheers Norm

Hi Norm, I am learning GarageBand and still have a long way to go but I have been quite happy with the tone I am getting. My setup is Acetone effects unit, audio interface, GarageBand and the Echo Studio preset. I have uploaded my test recordings of Bilitis and Walking in the Air to SoundCloud so you can get an idea of what the tone sound like. I hope this helps. Regards, John soundcloud.com/john-brown-254

They sound very good John, it is a shame that Garage Band will not work on MS or Linux PCs.

Thanks Sandra, I paid NZ$180 for a MAC laptop. It is a 2009 model so no big investment and obviously cheaper than some effects unit. The Acetone made a huge difference as it was easy to adjust the the tone etc with it. I found it very easy to record in GarageBand, and managed to do some elementary tinkering with the EQ so still lots to learn. I plan to buy Scuffham Amps, amp simulator which can connect to GarageBand via an AU connection so that will open up a great range of amps, reverbs and delays which GarageBand is very weak on so it will start another adventure into the world of "guitar tones". Best regards, John
