Some may wonder why I have not been active recently.
Three years ago I was diagnosed with prostate cancer and after radiation treatment all appeared well.
In October last year my PSA reading shot up to 178 and after having a nuclear scan today it was determined that the cancer has spread into my bones in a big way.
The prognosis is not good, and although I have been put on a hormone treatment regimen, the likelihood of a cure is remote.
I haven't touched a musical instrument for quite a few months now, as I seem to have no inspiration at all to play.
I have been suffering intense muscular pain in different parts of my body, and all I can do is try to manage it as best as possible.
I will continue to look in and appreciate your posts, but please pardon me if I don't comment. It may sound odd, but I can't find the words I need to make favourable comment.
Cheers
Viv

Hi Viv So sorry to hear your news. I also have Prostate Cancer but my PSA is only 28 at the moment so I am on regular blood tests and being monitored no medication. Strange I have had 26 biopsys which all came back negative so I am in limbo.
I do hope the treatment will work and understand how you won't feel very musical.
Do keep us informed as to your progress.
Wishing you the best. Alan

Hi Viv I too am really sorry to hear this. I was diagnosed with it 5 years ago and went through treatment and have now been discharged but I still have to have 2 blood tests a year with my GP.
You must stay strong my friend and always keep believing you can beat it.

Hi Viv,
I'm very sorry to hear this. Please keep optimistic, and keep fighting the cancer, like many other I had cancer in the past years. I've been operated 3 times in the past 16 years....my spinal-canal for a ependymoom tumour, my nose for skin cancer and 18 months ago for kidney cancer...in 2 of the 3 times things were looking very dark..but I kept a strong mind for a fight against the cancer... Please do the same and don't let that bl**dy disease win more ground fight back and downs that b*st*rd!!! Thinking of you and wishing you a good recovery!!

Hi Viv,
Very sorry to hear your news. The only thing I can say is try to be positive like a friend of mine who was diagnosed with advanced prostate cancer and was only give 5 years to live, that was 9 years ago last August and he is still enjoying life because new drugs are being discovered all the time. Hope this positive story is a help to you.
Kind regards,
Mauice.

Hello Viv, Do not give up hope as I was diagnosed with prostate cancer seventeen years ago along with leukemia and Polycythemia Rubra Vera. The surgery was a success but still fighting Leukemia. It's true that they have advanced with treatments. So my friend keep your head up and a positive attitude. Will certainly pray for you as God is the great physician. All the best. Blessings Gus.

Great philosophy Viv, you will be amazed at the power of positive thinking, a lot of people have beaten this disease just by doing that.
