Having started to use JamUp again on my iPad, mainly due to playing many more different types of music, I am really impressed with the tones I am getting now.
It all seems pretty robust, except trying to get a recording made on the 8-track out.
Could I ask any other JamUp users:-
1) If you record something, can you then export it using Audiocopy. On my iPad the JamUp app just crashes.
2) Similarly, can you use the e-mail function. It doesn't let me edit the e-mail, so can't enter a recipient. All I can do is save the draft, then go to my e-mail app and send it from there.
I have raised tickets with Positive Grid, but don't hold out much hope for a fix soon. I am running on an iPad2, 32gb, IOS 9.3.5,so not sure if some of it is my old hardware.
I could use iTunes, but as I do everything else on my iPad, I really don't see why I should have to connect to a PC to get an audio file from one app to another. I may also investigate using Multitrack DAW along with IAA or Audiobus, but may have problems with my Airturn pedal.

Tim, I use JamUp Pro all the time for live playing but haven't done a lot of recording with it. When I do, I just use the email option without any problems. I don't think there is any way to export, other than to iTunes, and that's something I haven't tried. I would suggest, if you haven't already done so, closing the app or even deleting it and downloading again.
Just noticed you are using IOS 9.3.5, so maybe you need to upgrade that, too.

Noel,
Thanks for the reply. I've reported the problems to Positive Grid and they have confirmed there is a problem with the email function. As yet, they haven't made any comment on the problem with Audiocopy.
I don't really hold out much hope for any fixes as I get the feeling they are more interested in the hardware side now with their Bias range.
However, I have found a good workaround using Audiobus and Multitrack DAW.
Unfortunately I am running on an iPad2, so IOS 9.3.5 is the final iteration for me. I've got my eyes on a new 2017 iPad, but would also need a new interface and, possibly, foot controller, so the cost all adds up.
Thanks,
Tim.

Dave, first of all, JamUp isn't really a minefield, it's just that you get everything at once and if you try to take everything in right away, it will get confusing. Exactly the same as if you bought a real amp, delay pedal, compressor, reverb unit, etc. all at the same time and tried to sort the lot out at together!
With regard to sound, you may have to buy a few things that don't come with the basic app, in particular the multi-head delay model for Shads' sounds, but these are very, very cheap (just a few pounds).
Now, with my set-up, I have worked out some tones that approximate Shads' tones and which are good for most guitar instrumentals, but I'm not a 'purist' and I don't look to perfectly emulate 'that sound', just something that sounds similar and, more importantly, works for me and my playing style.
However, remember that the controls on the digital amps are just the same as those on the real thing and I'm sure there are lots of members here and on other forums who could suggest amp settings (and also delay settings) for the sound you want to get. But very basically, to start out, just experiment with the AC30 settings without any effects and then gradually add delays, a little reverb and a bit of compression, one at a time.
Good luck, and enjoy JamUp - it's a brilliant app and, plugged into a decent power amp, it is great for live performance as well as for recording.

Dave,
Also, if you're looking for Hank's modern sound theres a decent Matchless 30 amp you can buy for a couple of quid.
And if you really get into it, look at Bias Amp.
