I thoroughly enjoyed filming them and thanks to Lee for the video editing. A super band with many songs we don't hear very often . Hope you enjoy watching as much as I did. Cheers Phil

Hi Phil, Great band, I liked the last three or four songs they played, all songs were played at a very professional level. Regards, Garry.

Terrific performance. I really liked the varied set. Good to hear and see some less frequently played numbers. And enjoyed the twin lead guitars. Michael

Hi Phil (and Lee and the band),
Not just good but outstanding and amazing they could recreate some of the Farrar era and more creative tunes which are more or less impossible for a traditional 4 piece to pull off convincingly. Must have been a huge amount of work to bring them to live performance standard. Great to see Lee playing lead as ever since the "cardboard box" Savage video it was clear that as a bass player he was way more accomplished than most leads when he switched to a Strat ! Is Lee still playing bass with the Rapiers ?
All the band were excellent with very high standard ... hope they were on last as what a hard act to follow !!
Regards George

Hi Guys - I agree they put on a superb performance and must have taken a lot of dedication to get to that standard. I know they only had 1 rehersal before the gig which was amaazing as they were so tight on the night and had all the walks and great stage presence. George - Yes Lee is still the Bass player with The Rapiers, and Nathan (on bass) was the former bass player with the Rapiers before Lee joined.
Cheers Phil

Hi Phil Thanks very much for posting that brilliant video which I listened to a few nights ago. The band sounded fantastic and I especially enjoyed "Years Away". I've never heard that played live before and it's one of my favourites. There were a couple there I'd never heard before and some great variety along with the well known songs - all superbly performed. Best wishes Rosemary

Hi Rosemary, Rob & Steve - I agree it was great to see some of the later shads numbers being played. And so well. I even liked the songs from Rockin' with curly leads which until then was my least favourite album Lol. I'm sure the boys will appreciate your good comments. Cheers Phil

Well - not really one for Shadows’ tributes, note for note, sound for sound - but thoroughly enjoyed this. I have often thought about those last remnants of original tracks by The Shadows and whether someone would go there. This took a lot of work and is really great to see and listen to. Total respect to Lee and Crew.
I often wonder where the group would have gone if they had stayed this brave and not reverted to elevator music. This was H at his best and boldest.
Wonderful work - I would pay to listen to these tracks live again.

Hi Tony - I was hoping Lee or one of the band members would reply - I was just the video man along with Roy Cresswell who took some footage from the edge of the stage.(He had a better seat than me Lol) I agree their own compostions are always special and great to hear a band playing them live and so well!! Their "elevator" music is exactaly how my wife describes some of their later stuff but I personally like all that as it's easy to cover and seems to be popular with the general public which is probably why the record companies tell them to record it. I think from the audience reaction every one who attended Lakeside 2017 enjoyed it - for me because of Lee's band the best one since 2012 when Bruce was in charge :-) Cheers Phil
