Is it just me, but if you get 'inside' the new advert and listen to the background music, is that, or is that not a superb new arrangement of Ben E King's 'Stand By Me'? Singer is Sunnie Williams, and AFAIK it was recorded for the ad and is not a commercial release. The original, of course, is the conventional 4 Chord Trick but in this version there are some lovely chord substitutions. A - A6 - Dmaj7 - Dm6 - Dmmaj7 - A etc. Am I alone in this? Probably. Lol Ian

Hi Ian, I guess, this is what you're talking about: www.youtube.com/watch?v=jZtEXMBbaZg(I can only guess, because I don't watch TV) and here is something similar where Sunnie is also mentioned in the footnote: www.youtube.com/watch?v=2Tm2uyVKl9wMy musical hearing is not as good as yours, but I think this version also has some new chord progressions. I just watched a recent interview with Sunnie, where the intro text on the bottom of the video showed that she is a multi talented person: vocal coach, musician, singer, songwriter and soon to be recording engineer, so I wouldn't be surprised, that those chords that touched you came from her. HI Ian, its certainly a great version but i must confess the advert hit home hard! Its very true especially in this day of social media etc when we have x amount of friends etc we all really only have 1 or 2 real friends.

HI Ian, its certainly a great version but i must confess the advert hit home hard! Its very true especially in this day of social media etc when we have x amount of friends etc we all really only have 1 or 2 real friends. Quite so, Steve. I find The personal 'message' in the advert very strong and compelling and it got to me too. The use of the word 'friend' has been so diluted and degraded by 'social media' to just being a tick in a box and so has become totally meaningless. In times of Need how many of those 'Friends' will be on ones doorstep offering Help? I've rolled over the Big 70 now, so if the Advert is to be believed I have probably met my 80,000 people quota and like in the advert,at the end perhaps as few as 3 who I can truly call "Friend" in the good old-fashioned sense. However, the Music is a cracker!!! Ian
