Hi Charlie, An excellent variety of sounds and styles, pushing the boat out with the ZZ Top number, a good distorted sound, I'd be interested to know what your chain was for that. Good sounds for all of your covers. I really liked the jazzy guitar sounds for the Trampps "Hold Back the Night", all the tunes captured the spirit of the originals. I hope you get plenty of work and continue to enjoy playing. Kind regards, Chris

Thank you to all for your kind comments. Chris, I used an older modified wiring Vintage branded VS535 guitar (made in Korea, possibly at the Peerless factory) which is a copy of a 335. This was connected to my Boss BE-5 multi effects unit purely as an impedance matcher, none of its effects were used. I used an old modified Cry Baby wah wah pedal connected directly from the guitar to the BE-5 only for the panned resonance effects in the middle part of the song. This chain was connected direct to the computer's line input via an M Audio Delta breakout box. Plugins for guitar used were a Sonalksis FreeG Stereo with the trim set to increase gain by around 10dB as the guitar signal was too weak on its own (any plugin that increases gain with a flat response would do), then the amp sim was an AXP Softamp PSA (based on the Sansamp PSA-1, one of which I once owned). I used a Freeverb3 convolution reverb plugin loaded with an impulse file called Gated_Ambience from BGLex480 (impulse files taken from a Lexicon unit) on every track except the bass guitar. All these plugins can be found for free. The left and right guitar parts were the same, played twice and panned full left and full right. The lead part is in the centre. Regards, Charlie

Good job Charlie, my first electric guitar was a strat copy called a ZZ top stage series, kind of strange cause Billy Gibbons plays Les Pauls Matthew

Thanks to all for your comments. Matthew, Billy Gibbons sometimes played a Strat (on La Grange and others) among other guitars even on early ZZ Top recordings. Regards, Charlie
